Clouds/Textures addons for p3dv4.. Rex, EnvTex, ASPD etc?

Recommended Posts

Talking about clouds, is there a cure for the so bright clouds far away near the horizon? I made several tries yet changing the related shaders, but couldn't come to nice result. I'd like the clouds to get a proper luminance and color that blends with the normal haze found at those distances. Thanks.

I would also like to see comparisons between REX4 TD vs ENVTEX. I'm on the fence on these 2 and not sure which one to purchase.

I use ASCA for my clouds so it's either REX4 or ENVTEX for the ground/sky color/water textures for me, and whichever one provides me with better visuals.

REX4 clouds are WAY better and the overall quantity of options within REX4 is much bigger as well.

That there are more clouds that is correct. But how do you know what cloud to choose at startup ? And what if cloudtypes change when flying ?

Better ? Not in my opinion. EnvTex skies icw ASP4 + ASCA clouds + PTA is my way to go.

Btw : I have everything from REX and tested days to find the best for my system.

Does EnvTex work in P3d v4?

According to the EnvTex website, "Prepar3d v4 to come officially with SP1."

REX4 or ENVTEX mmmmm!  -  I couldn't make up my mind after hours of research so I got both!  Happy days! Shopping can wait.

While I have been waiting for SkyForce from REX, I went ahead with Envtex along with ASCA for the dynamic updates. And while it is good enough for now, It won't be for long.

Once SkyForce is released I'm certainly removing Envtex and ASCA because REX is streets ahead of everyone else when it comes to cloud and environment textures. And SkyForce is going to blow ASCA out the water.. *bang bang* shots fired! ;)
