Fosset is on the way!

Surprised no one's responded to this... It's very interesting. Longest I've ever gone without sleep is about 40 hours, so I am curious how Steve will manage.-JohnEdit:Here's a link to the global flyer site so others can follow the progress of the flight:http://www.virginatlanticglobalflyer.com/

Hi guys. I'm surprised not too many have responded to this either. I was lucky enough to be one of the 8000+ that watched him take off. (I'm from Salina) I live in Hutchinson, KS now however. I raced down after work and braved the cold for about 2 hours before I saw him life off. It was great hearing the crowd cheer as he lifted.Pieter

I was browsing the web and came across some interesting sites to check for info on Globalflyer. Here is a link to the folks that have modeled the Globalflyer for use in either fs2002 or fs2004..Thanks Guys!http://www.theheavenlyhangar.com/READMORE/...FLYER/index.htmHere is a link to track the mission and lots of other goodies!http://www.virginatlanticglobalflyer.com/Happy Flying...PS Be sure you get the manual for the Global flying, not easy getting 18,000 lbs of fuel off the ground, they even have chutes to deploy on landing!!You'll be taking of at Salina,KS Municipal airport..

They are going to trust their automated systems.Just like when you and I fly "Virgin Atlantic" and the plane flies itself, Fosset is going to trust the well built automated plane that has been built for him to take it home. There are also a lot of folks making sure he is "Ok."When Mr. Fosset lands, he will be coherent, and ready to meet the world! My humble opinion,bt

He should just pop go-pills like the Air Force does.

Now there's something on the Global Flyer site about the fuel situation. Sounds like they're entirely dependent on how much tailwind they get the rest of the way. The news release said they were debating whether to start across the Pacific, but according to the real-time tracking map, they've passed Japan and are now over the Pacific. They can land in Hawaii if necessary.

If this is the fuel gauge problem - I can understand. If there is not enough wind or if the engine is consuming more than they thought - I can understand that too. But the talk now is that somehow he took off with 2600 lbs fuel short. How is it possible? Not only you can check the amount of fuel visually on the ground but the fueling trucker can tell you exactly how many gallons he pumped and what you paid for *:-*Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2

He's over Colorado and descending from cruising altitude. Supposed to land at Salina about 1:15 pm Central time.

Things are looking good, site says he picked up some tailwinds, and did some fuel conservation, so he should be on the ground in about an hour.Regards,Joe****************Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

At one time in Korea, we went five days without sleep, but were hallucinating by then... some even sooner. You can do what you have to do.
