Doh!

Also, in the real aircraft, you can go to the "defaults" page, (under the INDEX button), and set a minimum runway length for airports to display in the MFD when airports are selected. If you set "5000", you won't see any airports with runways shorter than that. Not sure if this option is in the sim, but it might be.

According to the AS documentation it's in. Also an option to set the maximum no. of symbols displayed on the map (on the MFD).

(But better ask one of their beta testers for confirmation.)

Even the PMDG 747 777 and NG had to be uninstalled and reinstalled 4-5 times in a short time for v4 and v3 to keep it updated.

The reason behind the long development time is mentioned in Vol1_AircraftOperatingManual_Part-1.pdf Page 5.  I think that it was nice of them to take responsibility for this issue and explain it from their side.

>WHY WAS THIS PRODUCT SO DELAYED?
Normally not something that is part of a manual, but let’s be honest, this was the most delayed project we ever managed. The delay was caused by underestimating the complexity. That caused the project to fall behind the schedule.
Now fast forward a year (keep in mind these are projects that normally span 30 months) and we noticed that what we considered state-of-the-art at the beginning was outdated and surpassed by many of our favorite competitors. So, you start to make plans to catch up, throw out stuff that is old and make new and better things. For example, the exterior of the aircraft was almost completely redone. But now you are not only developing but also catching up and that is devastating to any major project. All the time pressure is building and the project gets a bad reputation with management and customers. Not really the conditions that make a project flourish.
There were times we thought it was better to drop the whole thing and take our loss. It was the kindness of potential customers, who whacked trolls on the forum and told us to keep on working, that saved the project. They have no idea how important they were at certain crucial moments.
In the end, it is the project manager who is responsible. Nobody else. So, blame the author (MK) of this text and nobody else.<

I think that it is great that you folks persevered and completed the project.

At the end of the day the project came through and that's what counts. When I'm flying around in the CRJ the last thought on my mind is what the causes of the release delays were.

Agreed. The wait for the CRJ hasn't cost anyone any coin. The same for the A320 and A330 series' of aircraft, they too will get released when they are ready. The only people on the hook for the time it takes, is Aerosoft. I'm quite ok with that.

Is anyone else having extreme problems with the Autopilot? The aircraft can't follow anything and just veers off the flight path every time. I literally stopped the flight because it was so annoying

Yeah, that still happens.

Do you have the experimental hotfix 1.0.0.5c from the Aerosoft forum installed already? Should give it a try.

As that one doesn't solve all the tracking problems: Occasionally I have to downselect the active waypoint to the scratchpad, select it back up to the active waypoint spot, hit 'EXEC', and that often gets the CRJ back on track.

I just hope they get it right sometime... I'd really like to fly a CRJ but not on its current state. Sigh.
