AS 4 rain stops an restart randomly

Hello

 

i've observed that on a rainy day, the rain stops (for several seconds) and restarts, randomly. This is observed in VC aswel outside view... 

Anyone any idea why?

We will need some more information. Can you let us know:

Where and when this happened (and the METAR)

what build of As and P3Dv4 you are using

what addons are in use

Do you have any custom effects installed (I.e FSFX)?

*FlyTampa Eham ( gate D56 at EHAM moment of observation: yesterday 08/08, METAR i have to check...)

*orbx: global, LC europe, Vector

latest build of AS and P3Dv4 

maybe an isolated event...

Just to cover everything:

could you look on the AS map with precipitation turned on and see if it isn’t rain showers passing over you as the clouds blow by.  You’ll see what you describe if you are in rain showers.

I am experiencing the same issue myself. It is happening at different airports around the world. The rain stops and starts continuously, about every 5-7 seconds. It happens at both default and different 3rd party airports.

The only additional info I can supply is that I notice when I turn on weather radar, there is a perfect circle of weather surrounding the aircraft. Not a blob, etc.....but a perfectly round circle of rain/weather shows on the radar, with the aircraft at the center.

Folks,

Just following up on this thread and want to make sure that what you are experiencing were showers instead of rain, please verify the METAR, if there is SH or SHRA then the depiction is correct, you will see intermittent precipitation.  For steady rain the METAR must contain RA, just as netshadoe described.
