Newest updates wont install for 737 6700, 744, or 772

Recommended Posts

Pretty much what it says. Whenever I try to install I get these errors.

For the 737 6700:

Feature transfer error

Feature: FSX Version - Original Microsoft Distribution
Component: Ops Center
File: <FOLDER_SIM2>\
Error: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

For the 772 and 744 installer:

Feature transfer error

Feature: FSX Version - Original Microsoft Distribution
Component: DEM
File: <FOLDER_SIM2>\
Error: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

I managed to install the 737 8900 just fine. For whatever reason these wont work. It's not installing to C: and I'm running the installers as admin. Not really sure what's up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-Jon Kraft

The previous versions have to be removed with the windows control panel before installing new versions.  You didn't mention doing that so I cannot assume you did.

This may possibly have something to do with certain Windows folders being locked -possibly due to an installer or uninstaller that crashed before completing its tasks. I know there is a utility program that can fix this, because I have seen this mentioned on the Aerosoft forums recently, but I don't know the exact name.

Googling "Feature Transfer Error" may point you in the right direction, or someone more knowledgeable will chime in here...
