New GTN750 and latest C310R

Recommended Posts

I've recently installed the newest GTN750 for P3Dv4 (and FSX) into the C310R, but frequency changes both from and to the ATC are not reflected in the COM1 box.  What could be the problem, as this does not occur with other aircraft from either Carenado or Flysimware.  I've configured the radios via the MilViz MVAMS interface.

Thank you for any help.

What does your F1GTN.ini file look like?

What line am I looking for?

I'm flying the Milviz 310R with the GTN750, 650 and Wx in the panel and it seems to be working correctly, I also used the MVAMS interface.

This is my F1GTN.ini

Make a backup copy of your .ini file then try changing Under [GTN750.1]

Radios=1 change to 0
Autopilot=2 change to 1

If this doesn't work hopefully Bert will see your post, he is pretty much the expert when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Yes,  These changes worked!  In fact the same values were assigned in the airplanes in which the radios worked.  What is the basis, do you know, of these changes?  What does changing the radios=0 and autopilot=1 do exactly?  Why would the original gtn750.ini be incorrect?

Edit to add:  I think Milviz's MVAMS interface screwed up the installation, to be honest.

Not sure to tell you the truth, I think it has something to do with which unit is the "boss" and which com or nav is set?

Cheers

Ok, thanks very much for your help. The autopilot setting is very mysterious.  I don't see how that impacts the setup, but I guess it does somehow.  Maybe Bert will chime in and have some ideas.  I might pm him and see what he thinks.

Radios=n sets the COM/NAV radios

Radios=0  is COM/NAV1

Radios=1 is COM/NAV2

As for the Autopilot setting, I have only used =1 which is NAV hold.

Suggest using the F1GTN config app to check the settings in your airplane!

Thanks, Bert.  That explains why COM1 in the 750 wasn't reacting to any frequency change.  Also, the NAV hold function makes sense as well.  Thanks again for your expertise.  Shoulda guessed about the COM1 vs. COM2.

Regards,

Stew
