August 14, 20178 yr My system's configurations are: PMDG 777 P3Dv4(1.10.8414, Newest) + Active Sky for P3Dv4(Newest) + P3Dv4 Professional Plus(4.0.23.21468 / Client: 4.0.23.21686) Like I mentioned in the title, the weather radar reacts too slow! Is there any option to handle this or idea? Is it due to my low frame rates(20~50 frame)?
August 14, 20178 yr First off, what do you mean by too slow, and how fast are you expecting it to react. Captain Kevin Air Kevin 124 heavy, wind calm, runway 4 left, cleared for take-off. Live streams of my flights here.
August 14, 20178 yr Does it react like this? Real 777, real weather radar, real weather, does it compare? The radar's sweeps across the screen horizontally are significantly slow, meaning when there is a long delay between each sweep left to right or right to left. And it seems the predicted weather images don't react to my aircraft moving forward, only when heading is changed. Furthermore, the predicted weather images are too various each time the radar sweeps.
August 15, 20178 yr Perhaps you're expecting too much? I find the radar representation in the 747 and 737 completely satisfactory. You have to understand the 'weather' being depicted is a synthesis of the data provided by Active Sky. There isn't any persistent thunderstorms or rain out there. I find the sweep rate and update interval close to what I recall seeing in the real thing (737, in this case.) If I fly into the pink areas, I get pounded by turbulence. That's pretty good, if you ask me. Enjoy what's there and try not to overthink things is my humble advice. (2:40~) Above record shows pretty like the real radar, but mine doesn't.
