Turning Sperry on and off

Recommended Posts

I purchased the DC-6 a few days ago. I've used it in other aircraft before like the MAAM DC-3.

I was flying the tutorial 1 again today and turned the gyro pilot off.  When I tried to turn it on again it wouldn't come on.   I Then turned the AP Mech Disc off and tried to turn the gyro pilot on but didn't work.

I then quit FSX and started over. Now it wouldn't start again. I tried to click on the gyro pilot switch but it wouldn't come on. I restarted the computer and then fsx and still it won't work.

Just to be sure I know the gyro pilot switch come on first then the AP Mech.

Help please

Please ensure that your selector knob is pointed LEFT to GYROSCOPE....

Please ensure your turn knob is centered by clicking the centering clickspot above the knob.

When the a/c is in trim (realistic engagement) flip the switch and then actuate the lever......

Thanks

I do it in that order except when climbing and I want to get on course.

I have never gotten the Sperry to catch the course and follow the gps except in the tutorial.

At time the autopilot switch will turn itself off and I have to disconnect the lock turn it back on (at times it will not come on) and then throw the disconnect back on.

Is there something in the DC-6 that saves the pane when you turn FSX off?  Sometimes it seems when I start FSX and load the DC-6 at an airport that a few of the switches are not in the position they should be.
