AS16 + ASCA + Entex + PTA help :(

Recommended Posts

So I finally pulled the trigger and purchased envtex and PTA to add to AS16 and ASCA.  So far though - I don't see any difference in my screen shots.  I thought I was doing this right as the UI's didn't seem that difficult to me.  Is there any crucial step I may have missed?  I installed envtex, went to settings, chose the active sim, ASCA folder, the integration type, the PTA folder, enabled shaders, set envtex to global normal and then saved.  I then ran "Install" it did its thing, then exported the PTA profile.  I went in to PTA next, opened up the preset "PTAbsolute natural", chose apply preset.  FIred up the sim, and I'm sitting here at SFO and not noticing really any difference.  Sorry for the rambling of the steps but does this sound like I missed something?  I figured I'd have more "wow" factor I guess, especially when Ive seen others screen shots.

I think turn off ENVTEX shaders and instead install the PTA shaders with the PTA mod. It is confusing but I think if you read the manual for ENVTEX it says that. I have the envtex shaders off and use the PTA shaders running PTAbsolute natural and it works.

and be sure to delete the shader folder in %localappdata%\Lockheed Martin

And try different presets.

Yep, this is how Im configured.  Maybe its just a subtle difference with this preset?  I also changed from ASCA + ENVTEX to just ENVTEX textures.  I think ASCA's dynamic mode was picking some of the same textures?

Is this the same as PTA's clear shaders cache?  I only tried that and didnt manually delete.

I am running this in PTA https://www.sass-projects.info/thopat/

And I really like it. Maybe you can try this preset.

Haha - literally just downloaded that and was going to give it a whirl.  I did tweak a few things and am definitely noticing a difference now.  I did some very un-scientific tests before but now things seem a bit better.

Yes, I forgot they can do it internally. That's a must when you change any graphics settings.

Thanks!  Just wanted to make sure I was doing it right.  I'm definitely noticing a difference now.  I think what was throwing me off is some screen shots have these super blue skies.  Obviously thats also depending on weather which I wasn't changing around.  I actually havent had a chance to fly since I got this all setup which I should be doing today.  I imagine Ill notice more than vs sitting on the ground or slewing around a bit.
