How to get A2A planes?

Recommended Posts

I have FSX versions of the A2A 172, Commanche, and 182 among others.   I would like to know how to get the updated P3Dv4 versions.  I only see a way to re-purchase them on their website, but don't see the link to update for free, as I understand some are.

Please let me know exactly where to find their update for these planes.

The FSX and P3D A2A aircraft are separate purchases - they do offer bundles at the time of purchase which reduces the cost.  If you have an FSX version, you must purchase a separate P3D version.

That said, the only P3D A2A aircraft compatible with v4 at this time are:  C172, C182, Comanche, Cherokee, and Connie.

Well that explains it!  I thought they were free upgrades.

The confusion might be that they are planning to offer free upgrades on older products that weren't updated to work natively with P3d - ie. the warbirds. My understanding is that anything that doesn't have a p3d version will eventually get a release for v4, and owners of the FSX copies will be entitled to an upgrade on these items.

You must have inside information. As I understand it, FSX only aircraft will remain FSX only. Other aircraft, i.e. Spitfire etc. will be completely new purchases. i.e. No free updates.

Edit: Note to self. Practice what you preach and read the thread! Rich had already stated the facts.

My apologies, you're correct; it's been a good while since I read the posts at A2A and I must've convinced myself what I would've preferred to hear was fact.

The upgrades were free if you already had P3D versions (v2 and 3)

Oh, I see.  Thanks, Ryan.  I knew I read it somewhere.  FREE was for previous P3D owners.  Misinterpreted it was FSX too.

Thanks.

Have you tried installing yours in P3D?

Never  had P3D v2 or 3.  Came directly to V4 from FSX.

You also pay more for the A2A planes for use in the Professional version of P3Dv4 rather than the Academic version...  It's quite the cost.

I was wondering about the cost difference as I use V3 professional and was interested in the Connie.I could not justify paying more for the same product as a matter of principal when I chose to support P3D professional version.I went with the PMDG DC-6 and never looked back, had the Pro and academic versions been priced the same I would most likely have purchased the Connie. I would like to see PMDG develop more of the classic radial engine aircraft, the quality is outstanding.
