NGX P3D v4 VNAV Issue

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Every time I've gone to fly the NGX in P3D V4 on a chartered flight in the ngx VNAV has failed about an hour into the flight. It also gives me problems on takeoff. Not sure if this has been reported yet.

I'm flying with: Pro-ATC X and Active sky. Every autopilot function is disabled in pro-atc x is disabled and it's even happened without the software running.

Thank you

What is a chartered flight...., oh I bet you are referring to interaction with ProATC.  Irrelevant (maybe).

"VNAV has failed" is not enough information. "Gives me problems on takeoff" is not enough information.  You must be able to describe your problem is sufficient detail such that someone not looking over your shoulder can provide you help.  It sounds like you are a beginner, which is great and nothing wrong with that, but as a beginner you must review the Introduction document and fly the Tutorials.   Once you understand basic operation, you will be able to formulate questions that others around here will be able to answer for you.

I would post a photo of the problem but I don't know how...

In flight VNAV simply stops following the flight plan allocated, deviates of altitude hold and switches to and from N1 and speed hold. Hope this is enough information. Not sure what other detail I can provide other than what happened....

Being flying PMDG and the NGX for years on FSX. I believe this to be a bug with the NGX in V4.

What does the FMA indicate.  "switches to and from N1 and speed hold" is the thrust FMA indication, what are roll and pitch modes indicating on the FMA?

I have beta tested the NGX in V4 and flown many many sessions since beta and have not had a problem with VNAV of this nature.  Still trying to understand what you are observing to get clues as to possible why.

Show in the image attached via the link, VNAV & LNAV are clearly engaged but the aircraft deviated from course, speed and height randomly about an hour into the flight. This is the third time I've flown the NGX in V4 on my system now that this has happened.

Hi,

Two ideas out of the blue:

_ Do you have fsuipc installed? If yes, you may try to delete the profile and do it again from scratch

_ Do you have a Nvidia motherboard? One was none to have an issue with the internal clock causing some strange issues in the sim.

Temporary, have you tried to do a dct in the FMC to the next waypoint to see if the aircraft goes back onto track?

Hi bud bud,

Yes I do have FSUIPC, I shall try creating a new profile.

Funny you mentioned that because the clock on my computer keeps loosing time. I think the battery in the motherboard has gone. Do you think this could be the course?

Cheers for the idea!

"conrex1",

Please keep in mind that as highlighted by Dan, you are required to sign all your posts with your full names, otherwise your posts will be deleted.

Regarding the motherboard clock (Asus, not Nvidia like I mistakely said in my previous post), yes it can definitely be the cause of your issue:
