Looking for a 747SP sim

Recommended Posts

I found an old thread (2006!) so I thought I'd ask in a new one: I'm looking for an FSX 747SP and was wondering from which company?

Thanks for your suggestions and opinions.

Aerosim Japan made one for FS2004 in their AeroSim B747 Special add-on, dunno if it would work in FSX though. And it would be expensive too, since it was an expansion pack for their Classic Liners Vol 1 which is 35 Dollars, plus the 20 Dollars for the 747 SP, so, 55 Dollars in total just to get hold of a (in all honesty fairly mediocre) 747SP which is not native FSX either. But, if you really want it, here's the link:

POSKY have a freeware 747SP. If the Aerosim is mediocre then a free SP may make better sense. It depends upon how far down the "study sim" route you'd like to go.

There are no FSX native B747SP's. The Posky model can be ported into FSX without any dramas, you will have to download a number of files to put it together but it has no VC and it is not possible to add a VC via the usual route of adding and internal mdl file and grafting in the 747 cockpit. The Posky model will only give you a basic 2D cockpit. If your happy with that it will work fine in FSX. The 747SP is the only 747 I was interested in but the 2D cockpit is poor quality, it is the default 747 2D cockpit. I only fly VC's so after a lot of trying gave up on the SP project. Somebody might do one in the future with a VC but I would not wait around for one.

Thanks for that info. I have to have the VC cockpit so I guess I'm out of luck.

What about a 747-100 or -200 or -300? Any of those support the VC?

Only payware models of the 200, 300 have a VC.

You could try the CLS 747 classic series. The vc isn't bad but it's light on systems.
