How do I add a C 172 to PSXseeconTraffic?

I'm pretty sure I read this already in the long original post, but I've tried searching for it and cannot find the post's I remember seeing.

In my AI Liveries file I see:

PVT;C172;1;C172

When I last ran P3DV4, in my PSXseeconTraffic.log file, I see this information:

generic Private liveries for 2 types: C172 C208

Further down, I see:

N3173E  C172 L N3173E     ->    =x=   random airline PVT for type, C172

and a few lines down:

N3173E  C172 L N3173E     ->    C172 could not be created!

I know the information is well documented or explained. But, I'm a visual guy...preferably I could use examples of solving or adding the C172...

I'm not sure how to add/fix the C172.

I would greatly appreciate an actual solution example, if possible.

So, I use My Traffic for AI. When I look at the C172 folder, I do not have an aircraft.cfg file. I'm pretty sure this is the post I'm looking for in the long, original thread.

I believe someone identified the same problem and wanted to add the C172 to My Traffic (even though, there is a folder for it there).

I may have missed it, but I do not see any reference to this in the manual...

Has anyone been able to solve this and possibly help me out?

Hi Jim,

The  message:

N3173E  C172 L N3173E     ->    C172 could not be created!

means that the AI aircraft is not correctly installed in your simulator.

P3d does not have the default Microsoft C172 due to licensing issues. If you move the C172 folder from your FSX/FSX-SE installation to P3d's ../SimObjects/Airplanes, then MyT 6 will recognize it. One can also find a different AI C172 online and edit its aircraft.cfg to add 4 entries:

where x is 0...3

Lastly, AI Flight Planner (AIFP) is is best way to modify flight plans by assigning a different model/paint to the AI traffic BGL file. But that takes a much more study and effort.

Jeff, soon to be released are new GA AI models from Orbx, FTX AU ai. Go to previews @Orbx and have a look. The best I have seen (Freeware )

Sounds good, but here's what he goes on to say...

"They can only be used in the AU/NZ pack..."

That does bring up another question I have had...naturally, I do have a lot of Orbx scenery, including the FTX AI planes (they are not released for P3DV4 though).

I'm not sure there is a way to add them to PSXseeconTraffic. I've thought about trying several times, but just haven't done it yet.

It can be done, and I use some of the old pack now. I picked out the fsx MDL's from the FTX pack and put them with my FAIB and FSPXAI and work like a charm. There is no reason you cannot do the same with the new pack when it is released, as you will not be sharing them.

I will make a list for you of what FTX ai I am using so you can use them if you need too.

From the current FTX pack, I am using the following fsx mdl planes:

 

FTX AU Airbus A320-200S

FTX AU ATR 42-300

FTX AU ATR 72-500

FTX AU Boeing B717-200

FTX AU Boeing B727-100

FTX AU Boeing B727-200

FTX AU Boeing B737-300

FTX AU Boeing B737-400F

FTX AU Boeing B737-700

FTX AU Boeing B737-800

FTX AU Boeing B767-300 GE

FTX AU Boeing B767-300ER

FTX AU Boeing B777-200

FTX AU Dash 8-300

FTX AU Fokker 70

FTX AU Fokker 100

 

These are the only FSX models. If you are on FSX or P3D v3 of course you can use them all. but for V4, only these work until the new FTX ai is released.
