August 31, 200619 yr I never noticed that. I very much enjoyed FsHOTFX but unfortunately it clashes with Radar Contact 4 so I had to remove it.. :( Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------
August 31, 200619 yr I am trying out the demo - I decided against RC4 (until it has VFR and Ground ATC at least).I am horrified at the number of complaints about FSHotSFX though - not the product (sounds great as far as I have heard thus far!) but the support, which seems almost non-existent. People who ask for replacement keys just don't seem to get an answer. I'm not sure I need the hassle..M. Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
August 31, 200619 yr Funny...I had never heard of FSHotSFX before.I read this topic, went and tried the demo then I bought it. It works great, I love it. Now I'm adding all the custom AI sounds. :) Seems to be abandonware though...If you lose your reg key you probably have to get it thru regsoft.comhttp://www.cpavirtual.org/images/banners/MyNewCrapBanner.jpgEric Thornton - CX001 http://www.virtualairline.org Eric Thornton
August 31, 200619 yr How did you get the registration key to activate the product? I'd like to buy FSHotSFX but I've had no reply to my pre-sales support question: my FS PC has no internet connection (and I am not about to set one up on it either) and from what I have read, this means that I will not be able to activate the product. Is this right?M. Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
August 31, 200619 yr If you don't have internet forget it. The PC you install this program on has to be connected to the internet to activate. Nothing new here. Just like the Flight1 wrapper.http://www.cpavirtual.org/images/banners/MyNewCrapBanner.jpgEric Thornton - CX001 http://www.virtualairline.org Eric Thornton
September 1, 200619 yr :-( ... well, there are ways around the Flight1 wrappers (with Flight1's help) - I have UT installed, plus 2006 summer schedules. Maybe not possible with FSHotSFX though.. Aerosoft actually have an installer which includes a 'My Network Places' option, so I can install from my internet PC directly across to my FS9 PC, via my firewire network. Good old Aerosoft..Once I install internet on my FS9 PC of course I am going to need all my ISP software, firewalls, anti-virus software, spyware etc., all resource hogging to a point. Not very keen, even for FSHotSFXM. Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
September 1, 200619 yr Another reason why I don't use the FSHotSFX, besides the RC4 compability issue, is that my key isn't recognized anymore and I can't get any response when I ask for a new one. Just so you know... Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------
September 1, 200619 yr Did you try Regsoft [email protected]? They tell me that they will supply a key, but that other support must come from the vendor. Fair enough. It is very frustrating that someone should go to the trouble of creating a really nice payware add-on and then not support it like this. Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
September 1, 200619 yr BTW Krister, when you say that your key is not recognised any more, you mean when you want to reinstall the software, or that FSHotSFX one day decides that it is no longer registered and stops working?M. Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
September 1, 200619 yr It's when I try to reinstall that it is considered not valid. I'm sure following your suggestion and contacting regsoft will sort it out for me. Thanks for the suggestion! :) Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------
September 1, 200619 yr Commercial Member For those of you more adventureous, there are several custom sounds create specifically for FSHotSeat and FSHotSFX. Not hard to install/replace default Hotseat sounds. Some are really good based on individual type aircrafts. Adds nice diversity from hearing the same jet engine for all aircraft taking off. Find them in the Library. Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!) Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11), EVGA 1300W PSUNetgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displaysFull array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.
September 1, 200619 yr I used FSHotSFX and it's parent program FSHotSeat for a number of months way back in 2004. Then it interfered with FlightKeeper and RC4, that and combined with flaky support services, I abandoned it. For my money, unless you are not upgrading to FSX, FSHotSeat is going to become irrelevent, FSX has sound folder for AI planes, which is what FSHotSeat was trying to simulate. There were other cool little things that FSHotSeat could help you do, but was mostly fluff and again, commandeered FSUIPC's control of AI variables too much for my tastes.Randy Jura, KPDX
