Bug Report Reality XP v2 [solved]

Recommended Posts

Sebastian, what is it you're trying to achieve?

The link shows a third party gauge in the VC, certainly made with custom edited panel.cfg file. There is so much information in this thread, with so many unclear answers, I'd suggest you recap with clear explicative sentences what is it you'd like, and what is it you get.

1.) This is from my point of view different: On the JustFlight webside the integration ist shown:

2.)  Unfortunately I do not know how I can insert my screen shots here. Therefore, I show examples of images from the Internet of one airplans that I bought by JustFlight

If this is not possible, it would be ok for me. More important is the CTD

[Please understand there are rules in the forum and there is no point in reposting the link to the image that has been removed from your other post by the moderators]

Having said this, It seems you might be confusing two different products from two different companies?

If this is the case, the GNS V2 for FltSim is a Reality XP only product.

Now, the more this thread goes on, the less it makes sense.

Can you please just try answering exactly to all the questions posted?

Too bad you do not understand me. It was an example of the situation because I can not upload screenshots here!

Let's just stay with the CTD (crash to desctop). I will explain all unanswered questions tonight.

As i told bevore, it opens but can´t  be used

In this case, how have you managed to have a non-loaded GNS V2 gauge and non-loaded GNS V2 menu make your P3D4 crash?

I instaled it manualy, and according to the advice as recommended by you. (because your instaler does not install it. Maybe because all your own files are on the drive D? D:\Users\Sebastian\documents

I'm not sure to understand the correct meaning. Can you please clarify?

I expected Reality XP to be integrated and visible in the aircraft (which does not work, for example, in the Saratoga II and Seminole of Alabeo). In addition, I had expected that when clicking on a GNS 430 a window opens, in order to make inputs easy (which works).

(sorry my english is not so good, I can not explain it better)

I am trying to eliminate the program crashes that occur by using the Reality XP software.

In addition, I try to find out why the integrated representation of Reality XP in the aircraft does not work

Thank you, this helps clearing things a bit up.

First, when installed 'manually', can you detail what you have exactly done step by step?

Please note in P3D4 and P3D3, nothing gets installed but a "add-on.xml" created in the "My Documents\Prepar3d v# Add-ons\Reality XP GNS" folder. I've given a verbatim copy of the content of this file in this thread, suitable for a default installation of the Reality XP GNS V2 where its files gets installed in "C:\Program Files (x86)"

Second, there is no 'magical' way to make the gauge appear in your aircraft because you wish to. The gauge appear in your aircraft because you have configured it to. This can be done usually either using a 3rd party vendor aircraft preset (might be shipped with the aircraft, might be downloaded from forums), or by editing the aircraft "panel.cfg" file.

I don't recommend you start manually editing the panel.cfg file for now, and you don't need to. Just go to your Flight Sim "add-ons" menu, and select the Reality XP GNS 2 assistant. It will guide you through as explained in the User's Manual.

"I had expected that when clicking on a GNS 430 a window opens, in order to make inputs easy (which works)."

Can you please explain what do you mean by "which works"?

Can you please also try the v2.3.2 just released yesterday instead:

Last but not least: do you use an anti-virus? Which one? Can you try disabling it and compare?

1.) Uninstalling: rxpGNS2-FS(2.3.1.0)

2.) Installing: rxpGNS2-FS(2.3.2)

The information submitted could not be validated because the order has exceeded its activation limit. Please go to the Flight1.com Customer Service pages if you are having technical issues or need to reactivate your key. In most cases reactivation takes only a minute ore two.

3.) Re-activated Licence

4.) I did not install files manually by using this new installation of rxpGNS2-FS (2.3.2). So this question should have done, right?

Hi, thank you for the additional information and step by step details.

Just to make sure: when your say "5.) This Add-ons menu is exactly the way I have done with the user manual:"

- have you added a GNS popup window (assistant option 1), or have you replaced a GPS in the panel.cfg (assistant option 2)?

- Is it possible the aircraft you are trying to use the GNS V2 on, is already configured with a GNS gauge which is either our legacy version (pre-configured panel.cfg for an older aircraft), or for a different GNS gauge?

- do you mean the error appears while selecting the menu, or while opening/using the assistant, or do you mean the error appears after the assistant as reloaded the aircraft panel and the GNS gauge starts (or not) to display?

This report indicates the same error as before (error code is 0xC000041D) and I'd like you to review these again:

1) open the following folder: "C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GNS Trainer Data\GNS"

if it doesn't appear in your file explorer, just copy the text above between the quotes, and paste it into the file explorer "path" bar. Here is more information about this folder if needed: https://www.howtogeek.com/278562/what-is-the-programdata-folder-in-windows/

2) check there are file(s) beginning with "sys_nand"

3) delete all of them except "sys_nand0"

Once this is done, can you please make sure to review your anti-virus, and look if there are any file starting with 'rxp' where 'quarantined'/'deleted' by the anti-virus?

I'm really sorry for the trouble and thank you for your patience. As you can see on the forum, there is no major, if not none, issue with the GNS V2 and I suspect this must be something highly related to your system/configuration.

Fortunately, the deletion in this directory has meant that no problems have occurred during the flight so far.

We are approaching the solution to the problem. Could you help me with this problem. The GNS430 always shows me:

Configuration error Config service req´d stored data was lost

because i delete all of them AND the "sys_nand0?

AND the "sys_nand0?

Like I've mentioned, don't delete this one if any.

You can however manually restore it:

1) open C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GNS Trainer\GNS\

2) locate sys_nand0

3) copy (don't move but copy) sys_nand0 to "C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GNS Trainer Data\GNS"

This one is new: you're now getting an error with Microsoft .NET ?!?

There seems to be something highly tight to the computer / system for now, and it is hard to pinpoint, but we don't despair to find a solution for you. Are you sure your computer / video card / drivers etc.. are healthy? Overclocking computer?

If I understand correctly, when you hadn't sys_nand0, you were able to fly all ok except the error message within the trainer itself (config error) ? And only copying the sys_nand0 file from the Garmin installation folder to the Garmin data folder now makes your P3D4 crash?

Yes.

I've tested a lot in the meantime. The error only occurs when I load an aircraft which is saved as a favorite. When I select an airplane with RealityXP and a scene that is not stored, the error does not occur. I suspect that it is either because the own files from Microsoft Windows 10 64bit (properly) moved to the drive D and P3D does not manage well (which I think is unlikely), or that the stored XML file(s) contain an error . After I deleted the XML files and re-saved, the error has not occurred.

Do you still have a tip for me as I come to this error for more information?

I think the RealityXP bug has been fixed and would like to thank you very much.

I'm puzzled, like you, about what could be the source of the error on your system. Nevertheless, proceeding in eliminating every possible causes one by one takes time but helps narrowing down to the most probable ones. This takes time though, and I'm glad you've had the patience along the way for this.

Let us know though over time, if you further pinpoint the offending config/setting so as to help other customers who may face the same issue in the future.
