Joy stick calibration

I just started using x-plane.  When I try to calibrate my joystick all the axis but pitch go green on calibration.  No matter how many times I cycle the pitch position the slider remains red.  I use the joystick in a Gamin G1000 simulator and it works perfectly.  Any suggestions?

I hope you find a solution.  I have the same problem and reason I do not use XP11.  With P3D and FSX, it recognizes my calibration immediately and I can immediately fly.

Are all axis red for that specific joystick? If only one axis is not being recognized, you may want to first calibrate it in Windows.
