Any freeware scenery similar to Georender series?

Featured Replies

Following on the other question I asked earlier ( thanks for all the replies! http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...d=307058#307164 ) I was wondering if anybody could recommend any freeware FS2004 addon scenery similar in spirit to the Georender series. Meaning small airports in scenic locations with a lot of character and attention to detail. Sounds and animation not a requirement - but nice to have ;-)Thanks,Michael

Try James Belk, not as detailed, but nice and a challenge. Mark Smiths Bremerton is good, also check for Ken Peters and Jesse Wheeler they have a few great small airports in B.C. Canada. If you don't have UT I have a couple in AK, just search HANKS or Alaska Trophy Tours in the library.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International

I believe the sceneries in Bill Lyon's series of aircraft might fit the bill.A scenery also came with the Dave Eckert's Kaydet.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)

>I believe the sceneries in Bill Lyon's>series of aircraft might fit the bill.>A scenery also came with the Dave Eckert's Kaydet.Thomas,Would you mind pointing me in a direction where I can find these? Searching Avsim library for Bill Lyon yields no results. Searching for Dave Eckert Kaydet only returns repaints.Thank you,Michael

Tim,Yep, this is PRECISELY the sort of thing I was hoping existed. Obviously, somebody put a lot of work and a lot of heart into this project (Zdenek Kussior to be precise). And the result is great. Nothing too fancy as far as animation or sound (none are present as far as I can tell) but there is a lot of ambiance, lots of detailed textures (like rust on the roof in shot below) and even some people to hang out with;-) Thanks for pointing me to this great scenery!MichaelArrived at the airstriphttp://69.134.23.108:8080/lkmi_small.jpgWindmills!http://69.134.23.108:8080/windmills.jpgTaxi at LKMIhttp://69.134.23.108:8080/taxi_at_lkmi.jpg

Well I went ahead and checked this scenery out, very very nice! :)Thanks for the heads up CheersPete :)

Heh - Bill Lyons' last name spelling needs to be correct in order to find his work, doesn't it ;-)Thanks again,Michael

Thomas,This is on a completely different topic

Thanks :)Unfortunately, the town of Groton decided to shut down their rec department, which put a crimp into the marketing for the latest round of classes, but I've lined up with another organization, so hopefully it will take off from there. There's a lot of interest, so I'm really excited.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)
