TB-10 Tobago & TB-20 Trinidad now for P3D V4

Recommended Posts

For those of you who like me, have been waiting for JF to get the wonderful TB-10 and TB-20 into P3D V4, the wait is over.

Nice airplane, but still a bit hard on FPS even in P3D v4.

Haven't tried it in V4 yet, just downloading the new V4 installer now. 789 Mb probably accounts for some of the performance hit what with the high res textures and 3D instruments etc.

Thanks for the news...

I did not know these aircrafts, it seems to me that there are some interesting features :

"Failures including spark plug fouling, limited battery life, vapour lock and more. Realistic engine oil and TKS fluid usage, and battery drain"

For some inexplicable reason it's downloading from JF at a very slow rate, normally stuff comes down the pipe from JF at fairly high speed, but not this one.

Mind you, I think I might have broken the internet downloading France VFR's Ile de France today, which was about 10Gb in total. Can't wait to see what kind of slideshow that makes of P3D with all the ornate buildings of Paris and the surrounding region for 5,000 square miles covered with custom-made autogen and with about 16 custom made airports in there as well, and all that lot all sat on top of photorealistic terrain. I suspect it might explode my computer when I fly there lol.

Having now tried it in P3D V4, i can confirm it is indeed very tough on frame rates, to the extent that I think they probably ought to have a go at sorting that out with a patch. It's an excellent aeroplane, fun and a bit quirky as per the real aeroplane, but it really does eat up the resources for a GA add-on. I must admit I'm disappointed that the P3D V4 version doesn't appear to make use of the latest version of Active Sky for the stormscope, which it only uses for TCAS,  it did function as a weather scope in its FSX version if you had Active Sky Next, so I can't understand why it's lost that feature when I have an even better version of Active Sky in P3D. I hope they sort that out too.

I decided to uninstall it. Poor FPS, FD not as good as initial release for FSX, and P3D v4 crashed in two test flights.

I'm going to do the same, P3D V4 won't even fire up now, and the TB10 & TB20 was the last thing I installed, so it is looking like the cause of that. Very disappointing.

I installed it, cleaned it up, as I normally do, and find that it flies just as well as it did in FSX.  GTN750 in the panel... very nice!

Uninstalled the TB10/20 and now P3D fires up okay, so whatever was stopping it from doing so was evidently related to this aeroplane add-on. Gonna try installing it again and see what happens, currently downloading it again just to make sure it wasn't a corrupt exe file.

The gauges have been recompiled for 64-bit but nothing has been altered which would have a bearing on either FPS or the flight dynamics, other than the host sim.

If you are having CTDs then please make sure to submit a support ticket so we can investigate further.

We make no alterations to the sim itself, other than to install the aircraft into SimObjects and add the manual/paint kit etc to the Just Flight folder in the root directory, so I'm not sure what could be causing P3D not to load after installing the TB10/TB20. It's not an issue that we can reproduce here but be sure to contact the support team.

Yup, it's a puzzler to me too, which is why I'm re-downloading the exe file and trying a reinstall since it's a very odd notion that an aeroplane add-on would bomb the sim and prevent it from even cranking up, but that is nevertheless what it appeared to be doing. I just cranked up P3D after having done nothing more sophisticated than to drag the TB10 and TB20 folders out of sim objects and it then fired up just fine, whereas it had been failing to start with them in there. Not sure I've ever come across that happening with an ESP-based sim before where just having an add-on in a folder stops it from cranking up.

Anyway, will reinstall and see what occurs.

I still use the Lionheart Trinidad. Works perfectly in v4, however, the model is obviously not anymore up to date. Do you recommend replacing it with the JF variant?
