Flight 1 GTN Complete 530 / 430

Recommended Posts

Pilots,

Before I spend the money. Will the newly released Flight 1 GTN 430 work with the Cloudmaster? By work, I mean fully integrated in the virtual cockpit panel, etc. I'd prefer not to have to work off a pop up.   I presently have the GTN 650 in the aircraft but would prefer to use something a little more "dated".   Thanks!

Hi Stephen,

the F1 GNS 430 integrates perfectly into the VC of the DC-6.

Can you control it with GoFlight or similar modules?

Forever indebted to the late Michael Greenblatt of FSGS.

Most of the posts I have been reading are outdated....I have installed Flight1 GTN series GTN-650 in the pmdg dc-6 via the GPS/radio options control...

Now, the problem is figuring out how the GTN-650 controls the aircraft...I have tempted every setting I can think of using the native Sperry A-12 autopilot control turning it off and on using GPS/NAV , but that doesn't work...the only program is  Version 8  FSC which will control the aircraft....There must be somebody that can lead me in the correct procedure to change or add files...I am not a computer geek, but can follow instructions...Thanks in advance for any help...

Bob, the GTN 650 should work without issues as a replacement for the default GPS by PMDG. The only thing you need to do is to select the GTN 650 option in the popup window and reload the aircraft.

The Sperry has not all functionality a modern GPS could provide. You can use it for following VOR headings when you turn the selector knob to the middle position, after you have properly engaged first the main switch and then the servo lever.

If you want to fly a GPS route that is possible too by just selecting GPS mode on the unit.

in APP mode, the full right position of the selector switch, it can read an ILS signal or a LNAV signal from the GPS. The only thing missing, and hopefully will be implemented in a update, is the VNAV indication and follow.

Happy flying!
