P3D v4 & the JS-41

Ralgh, do not you know if PMDG could fix the icing bug that caused the screen to flicker? that's the only thing that matters to me, and of course the weather radar active sky compatible...

If the Flight1 GNS 750 is an optional add on, does that mean it will "fit" into the flight deck panel like the old fms look like?  Just curious what the difference would be between the Flight1 and Reality XP.

Re. all the questions about the 3rd party GPS units, I'm afraid I'm useless... I am the second person in the world after Dan, that still flies raw data.  In fact, just this afternoon I left King Salmon and headed to Homer to do a bit more testing.  The entire flight was on raw data, with the default GPS turned on as a moving map for SA.  The approach at Homer was beautiful, over the VOR and outbound to turn inbound on the back course for arrival on Rwy 22.  It was hand flown from the DME intercept and I kept marveling at airspeed control in this bird.  Pull power or push forward and the results are immediate and predictable. This first shot shows us almost feet dry... on a nice Alaska afternoon... if this doesn't remind you to re-read fate is the hunter, no clouds will....

Wq0UXUP.jpg

We crossed, went outbound on 003 descending to 3600 for the 11 DME arc... truth be told, here's where the GPS map really came in handy for the next turn.... still, it all worked out beautifully and next thing, with the props at 100% we were slipping in to stroke onto the piano keys....

Gfa02Sm.jpg

Beta range to slow, Condition to Ground Idle and we were turning off sedately without warming the brakes... lovely.  Take a look at this next shot.  Orbx Homer in all it's glory.  Did I mention how much I love the Orbx World?  With 2 PMDG offerings that are simply perfect for this sort of flying, I am hoping that many fliers, who have never considered PMDG because of it's complexities and FL300+ flight, will now be able to discover the wonder of their offerings with the DC-6 and now the J-41.  Whether you want to fly in Alaska, the PNW or California and the Southwest... if Orbx makes it, PMDG can take you to (most of) it- a BRILLIANT COMBINATION that will allow the desk bound, to do more than just look up wistfully at a passing aeroplane.  Combine PMDG, HiFi and Orbx and you too can slip the surly bonds of earth.... later you can move up to the NGX for the longer legs...

Tuesday will bring more good things to us simmers, and I am again reminded of what a fortunate moment in FS history we are witnessing.  We are indeed lucky!

P3d V4.1 comes out, not necessary a PMDG Plane - in fact, I would expect PMDG to wait for 4.1 to be released first

as every devolper does atm... nobody of them wants an addon that is compatible to both versions 4 and 4.1 with people having eather 4 or 4.1 and then all the trouble starts again... this doesn't work. that is bad.. so wait for 4.1, request it during installation and be sure you have ONE version you have to support.

to be honest I expect several developers to release their products as soon as 4.1 is out and confirmed to be running. PMDG MIGHT surprise us not only with the J41, but maybe also with the 747-8 and who knows... I am very sure A2A have something up their sleeve just waiting for 4.1, FSL is waiting for LM with the A320/319... and so on... I think this year's fall will be a great time for us simmers ^^

"Tuesday"....

Just to stop any assumption before they start spreading :)

What Carl meant is that P3D4.1 is planned to be released on Tuesday. Not the JS41 :)

I'd like to see an option for the F1 GNS in addition to the GTN - the 3D model is already there with the default GPS. Sure, the GTN is a better unit and is awesome in its own right, but you won't find a JS41 in the real world with a GTN in it. You'll find plenty of JS41s with GNS units, however.

I don't care whether it has a GTN or a GNS. I just want it installed on my hard disk!!

I agree . . . There are loads of people that think flying is . . . Programme your FMC, line up, throttles full forward, past v2 and engage N1 & N2. There is nothing more rewarding than planning your flight & excuting that plan the old fashion way. Who knows try it . . . You might like it!

For anyone looking for a challenging flight with out GPS in the JS41. Try EGHI to EGKK. Climbing hold after takeoff, hold, then STAR. It is documented on the NATS site. Even better if you get a knowledge controller on vatsim.

Quick question; any chance of removing the passengers and updating the load sheet (or just a load sheet update) to create a cargo version. That way it it would be air hauler compatible and would make for an easier experience for the end user.

Now . . . On a very serious note . . . Stop teasing us and get this release! I have been waiting for years for this 😉😉😉

Great work guys . . . Thank you.

That's not what I think flying is.  I just asked if the Flight 1 GPS was going to fit into the panel.  This is why I hate asking questions on forums.

Flight simulation is different for everyone. We all need to respect that, whether we are "Autopilot & FMC specialists", "VOR navigation experts", or "low level scenery viewers"

I have quoted the wrong post! My bad I am sorry.

To answer your question. . . . Yes. There is a video on utube that shows it.

Apologies.
