Hi Chris

thanks for your support, I have tried to login to PMDG to raise a ticket system and my account is locked and cannot work out why?,this is the second time by the way.PMDG wont return emails either, maybe you can explain

       kind regards simon

Simon,

What emails are you refering? We are not using email for support for many years now. The account under support.precisionmanuals.com is different than the store one. If you have not opened a ticket in the past you need to create a new account under the support portal.

The Jetstream, my favourite FSX aircraft. Put me onto buying the NGX and now I'm on P3dv4, the 747 (2).

Since I won't be buying the 747(8), the J41 is my only next PMDG interest.

I have the GTN 750, so my hangar awaits a shiny new J41 for 64 bit!

I also have the Mjc Dash 8.......a bit of competition there for the J41?

Let's be having the Jetstream, any more "big iron" can wait!

Best regards.

Only if there is a native/original FMS option. A GTN-only option will render it completely 'NOT' comparable to the Dash 8. A GTN or GNS-only version, renders it a "toy"... imho.....!

I agree. It's surely not difficult to include different navigation options.  Many simulations now have an option to run with 430/530/750 etc.

The PMDG J41 was so good in FSX, way too good to sideline in 64 bit!

Absolutely. I have no problem with giving people a choice. But my 2 cents is that the original PMDG J41 was awesome and the original FMS needs to be an option, or they will not be getting my cash.

I have so many addons with the flamin' GTN, I am literally sick of the sight of it.

Hell, they even put a Garmin GNS in the DC 6 ! What the..... ? (I know there is an option to remove it, but the thought of flying a DC 6 with a GNS, makes me shudder)....

......Real world, maybe.... but this is NOT the real world. I want to simulate flying the original aircraft, not a retro fitted museum piece. I have even seen a Spitfire sim, with a full suite of modern avionics. Sorry, but these people need help.

Kind of curious as to why folks act like they don't know that some J41's have been retrofitted with GPS instead of FMS in real life.  It is common knowledge yet folks act like they do not know this.  Curious indeed ~shrug~

The Honeywell GNS-XLS FMS as modeled in the FSX version of the JS41 IS a GPS (and more). The GPS is built into the FMS - that is how it is able to navigate.

Like the competing Universal UNS-1 FMS/GPS which is used in the Bombardier Q-400, recent versions of the GNS-XLS are WAAS enabled, giving the unit the ability to fly LPV approaches.

The GTN-750 is a very capable unit too, and some r/w JS-41 may indeed use them.

I believe someone from PMDG mentioned that the FMS in the FSX version was developed by a third party who was not in a position to create a 64-bit version for the upcoming P3D version of the JS-41, thus the decision to use the GTN-750.

Nevertheless I'm with Gabe here. I have the GTN in the Lear 35, in the Twin Otter, in my A2A GA fleet.

What I expect from PMDG is a different approach. I will certainly not buy a J41 with a standard GPS unit capable of nothing. You have to keep in mind, the GTN dosn't come with the Jetstream, users who don't own the unit yet would still have to buy it!

The XLS made the Jetstream unique, fun to fly, it was different, something new to learn. The use of the GTN makes it another addon which relies on a 3rd party addon to navigate properly.. sorry, but no.

The XLS is not the most complex unit in the world, I guess PMDG would be able to re-do it.. if they wanted.. but from what I read they just want to port it with minimal effort. A pity. So the Q will stay the only true complex turboprop addon there is.

I know Pmdg never gives release dates. So I´m not asking for that. But it is possible to know at least if it will be released inside 2018', or do you expect another schedule.

And another couple of questions:

Will this bird come with true glass?

Will previous owners have a discount?

Will be included a weather radar?

Love the option of GTN750, the small problem is the airacs need to be the real ones and that's too expensive, so the GPS that comes with the bird will be similar than the default? or can we expect to add sids/stars and airways that could be updated via naviagraph/navdata pro.

Can wait to fly again this bird. Hope FS2CREW reboot their software in 64 bits.

cheers.

Don't expect ANY answer on release dates, not even if they are just covering a year...

regarding the other questions:

No. They have developed their own "Rainmaker".

nothing has been said about it, but as P3D is a seperate license from FSX I doubt it. Maybe a generally lower price as there are features missing (FMS) but I don't think anyone knows it yet except PMDG. And they won't tell us.

I think I have read that it does.

it is the default.

That much from the latest answers given. But as the project is delayed that much even though it was obviously more or less ready (pictures by the beta tester and announced on Facebook) MAYBE we will see something completely new on it... who knows..I wouldn't be surprised if it would include an EFB or something just like on the 748, including navigraph charts. Otherwise this epic delay doen't make much sense to me ^^

No need to pay for a voice control "reboot".

MCE support all 64 bit aircraft that were formally 32 bit and it's done for free!

Folks could spend the money on a GTN, if they don't own one already.

Who's to say I don't have a GTN in my J41?😉  It won't stop me buying the J41 again if it's got to have a GTN! No burden at all!

It was mentioned there the JS41 would support PMDG's GFO product at tier 2, so hopefully that means the P3Dv4 port is not dead. But it has been an excruciating long silence for official news on the J41 P3Dv4 and work on the J41 has been quietly dropped before, so fingers crossed it's no longer bottom of the queue.

It's very frustrating from a user perspective when it seems so close to completion and it appears PMDG is withholding the last bit of required development to push it out in favour of other projects a long way off release.

Especially when your trying to find a PMDG level quality small regional prop for P3D.  😟

All,

When we have some news to share we will. Currently the status is the same. The development of the B748 and GFO has taken the resources from JS41.
