Sid with vector

Hi Dave,

                I did a flight today between PHNL and PHKO. The active runway was 8R and I was given the MKK4 SID which is basically a vectored right turn to get you out over the ocean past Honolulu. I wasn't given any kind of heading when I was cleared for take off. Should I have been?

Shortly after takeoff you should have been given a Heading and cleared direct to MKK.

Was no heading given after takeoff?

No heading. The next ATC contact was a change in altitude assignment.

It's funny. I was just listening to Live ATC for PHNL and I don't hear the tower give any heading instructions before takeoff and I didn't hear departure control give a heading either. I wonder if they're getting it from clearance delivery?
