How do I apply the new update? I love the product, but I find the install process and the UI of the Turbulent manager to be a bit confusing...

Hi Mik75,

What do you find confusing about it?

You can install the update by downloading the latest installer from your account > downloads area. You can access it here:

https://www.turbulentdesigns.co.uk/my-account/downloads/

Just click "Download". Run the installer and it will do everything for you.

Thanks,

Russ

Thanks a lot!

Well, the little scenery management tool is a bit confusing, but that might be just me. No confirmation that everything is ok upon initial install, no update possibility through the tool, etc. No biggies, as the results are really great! ;-)

Updating via the Terminal is something we are working on, so we'll definitely make it a feature in the future :)

We can definitely put something in the TerraFlora area of the Terminal to confirm that everything is OK. At the moment, the confirmation of it working is the fact that it appears in the Terminal :D

Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks again for the fast help! Yeah, there's always room for a bit of improvement. But overall, and especially look wise, your product really shines! Keep up the great work!

As far as I'm aware, FTX England is the only region that does this.

I have all ORBX Regions except England (and I have also the ORBX Trees), and that probably explains why I'm still seeing TF trees everywhere, which is good indeed!.

Thanks for the clarification.

Orbx regions and airports (amongst others) and TF trees are turning this simulation into quite a work of art!

I just purchased these trees and here is my opinion:

There is definitely a performance hit, I have a medium to low end system and on P3D V4.

Are the trees nice? Yes, are they spectacular and ground breaking? No. I think the price is too high. $27 for a texture replacement it should be like $15.

When I installed them I wasn't "wowed" by any means.

Sorry for being critical but just my opinion.

Curious,

Living in Australia and knowing we have to pay 10% gst for online purchases from July 2018 ( not withstanding some online firms are already prematurely adding 10%) why we have to pay the 20% VAT. Coupled with PayPal making a quid from exchange rates and fees and the price in AUD puts it out of range for this add on. A reason why I like ORBX selling in AUD.

Obviously these are taxes and fees not going Turbulent, but they do miss out because I will now not buy this product. Removing the VAT for overseas buyers would have made a major difference to my cost. Possibly selling via 3rd party e.g. simmarket where you need to put country of residence and you get the no VAT price.

This might not be the ideal area to comment on this but this topic raised my interest and I went to the web site to buy only to do a double take once the final cost to me was available. Worth taking on-board.

Cheers

I'd like to understand better the exact algorithm being used when deciding to use ORBX trees, default trees, and the TerraFlora trees....this thread hasn't made it clear to me.

In some aspects it seems to indicate that the TF trees and ORBX trees can exist in the same scenery, yet in non-full-fat regions this isn't the case....I've been on the fence on this whole tree purchase and don't know if I should go for one or the other, or both.

Thanks,

Mark

General "Buck" Turgidson: That's right, sir, you are the only person authorized to do so. And although I, uh, hate to judge before all the facts are in, it's beginning to look like, uh, General Ripper exceeded his authority."

A simple personnal though...

Turbulent on orbx sceneries work well alone (and for me more real and nicer).

I think that to said that Turbulent is compatible orbx trees is for, me only, a diplomatic declaration... A manner to preserve good relations whit other developpers 😎.

Not necessary to buy bouth, make your choice on one of the other.
