From the Black Forest via Lake Constance to Neuschwanstein and the Königsee

Recommended Posts

Now that ORBX has launched its Germany South scenery, it will give me plenty of interesting POIs that I can visit there. This flight takes me from the Black Forest via Lake Constance, Neuschwanstein, Zugspitze, Innsbruck all the way to the Königsee. I have combined the ORBX scenery with free German photoscenery. ORBX gives me all POIs and the photoscenery shows me my world, as it really is. I have placed the photoscenery above all ORBX entries. The plane is the Carenado King Air 90.

After taking off from Baden-Soellingen in the northern part of the Black Forest we head south towards Freiburg

Over Freiburg we turn east for Lake Constance

We have reached the western shores of Lake Constance and encounter some rain

Friedrichshafen comes up with its airport and home to the once famous Zeppelin

Over Füssen and the Lake Forggen

Dead ahead and a bit difficult to spot is the castle Hohenschwangau. In the distance the much more famous Neuschwanstein palace

We slow down to be able to view it in all its splendor

Next “stop” will be Garmisch and the Zugspitze

Over Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Over the Eibsee we have applied full power in order to reach the top of the Zugspitze

The Zugspitze with its panorama lounge

Now it’s off to Innsbruck and then the Königsee

Innsbruck and its airport

Reaching the Königsee from the south is going to be a bit of a challenge due to the high mountains there

The flight will finally end in Salzburg

Thanks for viewing. Btw, the biggest challenge of this flight was to bring down the screenshots from 96 to just 20

Well done, nice pictures, sure the orbx German South is a nice addon to have.

Make some real flights over Germany, And now in sim we are able to have the good feeling. In your pictures too...  Are good shots of german's countries...

Really appreciate those shots.  It brings back old memories when my wife and I lived in Germany years ago.  We went to all most all of the places you mentioned.

Königseei, Zugspitz, Garmisch, and especially Neuschwanstein palace.  Will need to pick up south and north Germany during the special.

Thanks again, beautiful pics.

Thanks Hans and Chris. A free photoscenery that covers all of Europe and comes with its own autogen can be found here:

The part that covers Germany and some border portions of the surrounding countries is around 180GB !

Showing those pics made me go over to FTX  and started downloading South Germany and before the special ends will probably get the N Germany.  Looking forward to flying over some very special places in  Germany.

Well I didn't think I would ever get S Germany installed.  For some reason it would stop and I had to start over many times.  After about 4 hours it installed the way it usually does using FTX Central.  Not sure what the problem was but finally it installed in about 30 minutes. I have never had any problems with orbx but this one was a pain.  I would like to get the N. Germany but If I have similar problems will pass even if it is 50% off..

Now that it is installed I have been relieving the pastin Germany.
