SELCAL ON 777

Recommended Posts

GREETINGS:

Is there any way to set a SELCAL code on the 777?

I'm flying CTP once again - and quite frankly - the SELCAL issue never came up... but it would be nice to know how to tune the assigned SELCAL if possible.

Please let me know ...

Thanks

MARK

Hi, I am having a hard time trying to understand what you mean.

IIRC SELCAL is hardcodes in the aircraft, you can't tune it.

If you fly on IVAO when crossing the ocean, add SEL/whatever-your-selcal in the flightplan

If you fly on VATSIM ... i don't know, but should probably be similar.

If you fly default ATC ... it does not give a damn about your SELCAL.

If you fly VATSIM you can set it on Vpilot on the screen that pops up when you press connect.

Many 777 repaints do not have the selcal in the cockpit on the registration plate. I learned to paint it myself. Do you need one for an aircraft you are flying? I can paint one up give me the registration - David Lee

Just to expand a bit on Olympic260's comment. you input your desired SELCAL code into the vPilot Connect dialog. In addition, you should include the code in the remarks section of your flight plan. I'm not sure if both of the major VATSIM ATC clients would automatically extract the code from the pilot client connect window, but they both claim to do so from the remarks section.  It looks like you should only enter the four characters, not the dash.

Hope this helps.

Thank you all for your responses. Therefore - I will submit the SELCAL given to me by VATSIM into my Flight Plan. I just didn't know if my aircraft would actually "ring" based on the SELCAL they provided.
