P3D lags too much.. I want a smoother one..

I bought the P3D V4. My original FSX runs in very high quality but my p3d is not working properly. It lags too much and the fps is so low. I use a retina 4k 21.5 inch iMac. Can you help me?

P3D as is, is more demanding than FSX. P3Dv4 is even more demanding than v3. Retina display or not, your iMac will struggle, obviously. It's like expecting better fuel economy from tinted windows. You need a proper PC to run it decently.

Maybe wait 48 hours and see what 4.1 brings. If the issue persists there are a number of adjustments you can make, but to get quality advice you'll need to provide a bit more information as to what hardware, settings, addons etc you are using

Even my PC with the 6700K and a 1080ti struggles here.

Unfortunately it's your iMac that's the problem...just not powerful enough as P3D pushes much more workload over to the GPU than FSX.

A PC with the 6700K and a 1080ti shouldn't struggle!  I have a 7700K and 1080 running 4K and P3d is smooth as silk

It all depends on your settings and addons used. ;) I have a 4790K and a 1080 running 1902x1080 and things can get pretty choppy unless I lower settings (a lot) or fly in rural/bush area's.

I don't believe the iMac meets P3D V4 minimum requirements due to the Intel Iris Pro 6200 graphics processor.  Unfortunately that's not something that can be upgraded in the iMac.

Which config. do you have? i5 with Turboboost to 3.8 GHz? The Radeon Pro 560 is the best card they for the 4K and it's about like a 970 with 4 gb.?  Need more info.

Wow ! I am speechless, but I also wait for next year when the next Intel chip is expected to deliver to upgrade my PC and the Graphic card before I touch P3Dv4 ;-)

To the OP, you don't have to get P3Dv4.  If FSX is working great for you why making the move now?  Either invest in better hardware first and then move, or stay put forever.  Heck, I still have my FSX-SE to run my PMDG MD-11, if you don't overload your sim with add-ons you will be just fine.

4790K and a 1050ti. Smooth as well... Not maxed out settings, but not minimum either.
