Chris it takes 10 mins max... whats the issue ?

Perhaps I misunderstood. .. not scenery and payware aircraft addons,...only client and content...so I don't then have to reinstall all my addons?

Chris,

I did the client and content, I didn't have to reinstall anything.

FTX Global
PMDG 737
Carenado Planes
ASCA Just update
F1 GTN Complete just run the F1UpdateTool, but be aware of a bug with planes using it
Lots of airports Aerosoft, FlyTampa, etc.

So you will be safe brother.

Simbol

Is there a consensus on what one should do?

I would recommend just uninstalling/reinstalling the Client.  Later on, after some dust has settled, recommend the Content.

The Scenery fixes change just a couple of things.  If you want to uninstall about 10 GB's of Scenery and then reinstall 10GB's to fix these two small errors, then I think you are making a major mistake, especially if you have any scenery that replaced the default like GEP3D.  Here are the two things fixed:

Prepar3D Scenery

  • Fixed missing textures in St. Louis Adams Mark
  • Removed invisible objects that could cause vehicle to crash at KBWI

I agree with uninstalling/reinstalling Content as there are some major fixes:

Prepar3D Content

New Features

  • Added rain effect to cockpit glass in default vehicles
  • F-16A and F-16AM now feature a Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) reticle, which can also be viewed in VR

Fixes and Improvements

  • Added configurable max_turn_rate for boat SimObjects
  • Updated default scenario flt files to support Unicode characters
  • Fixed flashing that would occur with the Fury 1500 when in Black Hot IR mode
  • Fixed missing cockpit textures in the F-16
  • Removed incompatible AI models

Sorry I posted some bugs somewhere else I thought I did it on on this topic, let me put it here too:

Bugs I have found so far:

1) If I save a scenario with the PMDG 737NGX loaded and save it as default Prepard3D will crash on load every single time, the only solution after is to remove the default situation from prepard3d.cfg so the sim load on the default LM sceneario.

2) There is a problem with the Carenado planes Hawker 850XP & Phenom 300, if I select these plane and load the sim all works fine, but if I try to change the plane I will experience a CTD.

3)  Again if I use the Carenado planes mentioned above and attempt to exit the simulator, the sim will CTD.

UPDATE

Just Confirmed that 3&4 is related to Flight1 GTN 750. I will report this tomorrow to F1.

Best Regards,
Simbol

Just to put this out there, Windows Update KB4041676 which was released today (and after v4.1 was) gave me the same CTD issues the last one did. I hid that update and am back in business. Something to consider if one finds they are having an issue of the sim CTD when it has loaded to close to 100% or trying to start a flight with an addon etc.

Getting AS16 connect errors after running the AS16 hot fix 100117...anyone else?

Are you actually trying to use AS16 or do you mean ASP4? Because AS16 isn't compatible with P3D v4/4.1. And if you are indeed talking about ASP4, did you actually install a hotfix numbered 100117 or the new 100917? Just making sure we are talking about the same things here.

If having problems with GTN Complete, make sure you are running version 2.03. I got caught actually running a previous version, thinking I was current. Somehow missed the 2.03.

they still say ignore the F1 update tool.

As far as GEP3D goes, it's a no brainer.

Even dealing with ORBX is a snap. Biggest issue would be some 3rd party airports.

Hi Simbol

was your FlyTampa, Aerosoft sceneries installed the XML way or the old fashioned scenery.cfg way?

What a disappointment, I really thought this was a thread on P3Dv4.1 compatability but it seems to have turned into a thread on how to do a simple update.
