VoxATC 7.41 and P3D4.1 - Indexer hanging at weather themes

Featured Replies

I reinstalled all of P3D4.1 and reinstalled VoxATC7.41.

The indexer is stuck at C:\Prepar3d v4\Weather\themes   ?

Anyone have a similar issue please?  Cheers K

EDIT: tried deleting each of the weather themes to see if one was corrupted somehow, no joy, the indexer still hangs at the same point, even when the folder is empty

EDIT2: tried uninstalling and reinstalling vox, no joy, same result.  Have now emailed Tegwyn about it....

Have also been experiencing this issue as well! I e-mailed vox support via their website 2x's in the last 3 weeks and still have not received a response. Been a longtime fan of this software but am growing disheartened by the lack of response.

I have P3d V4.1 installed with VOX 7.41. For me, the Indexer stalls for a few seconds at the weather themes location but then moves on and completes normally. I wouldn't trust the folder display in the Indexer dialog box as being the exact location of the problem, though. It could be stuck on the next folder that it is trying to read.

Some things to try... Rename the active version of scenery.cfg and then let P3d rebuild it. See if the Indexer still locks up. Check the character sets (ANSI, UTF-8, ,etc.) of all the P3d cfg files and see if they are correct. Lorby's utility can help with the character sets of  add-on.xml files. My uneducated guess is that it is a bug in the Indexer, but why it just showed up for no reason is rather odd. I also wonder why the Indexer is even bothering to try to read that folder. There aren't any AI aircraft, airport BGL or AI traffic BGL files in that folder.

I’m in no hurry to update to P3d v4.1. It’s working well enough for now.

Tried letting P3D rebuild a brand new scenery.cfg - that had no effect.

I checked the encoding of all cfg files, and a lot were inaccurate.  So I corrected them all, and still the indexer is stopping at ...weather\themes :S

Let me run the Indexer again and I'll tell you what the next folder in succession is (if I can read it).

EDIT: It scrolls too fast for me to see, but it's a subfolder of the P3d main folder. Sorry.

hello, I've the same isue now but with p3d v4 ! I did'nt install p3d4.1...

But I did'nt   wait  more a few seconds...

I will try the indexer more time...

I should note that my issue with the indexer being stuck on the weather/themes folder is on P3D 4.0 not 4.1 Have tried some of the fixes suggested above but they were unsuccessful in resolving the issue. It appears to be something with the indexer.

Searching for this error via Google reveals that it's happened before when P3d was updated and the Indexer couldn't cope with a change in P3d folder structure.

I have no idea. The structure of the scenery library may be the cause although I already suggested a test for that which apparently didn't work. My guess is the add-on.xml method is a source of problems for the Indexer.

The only other thing that I can think of is to temporarily disable all 3rd party scenery with the Lorby add-on manager utility and then start adding items back.

yes thats where my thoughts were headed, to disable all add-ons and see what happens

I remember that I just change the structure : I added NY X in addon floder  instead off in the usual addon scenry folder ...

I will try with the installation before...
