No back-lighting after 10/12 update on MCP.

Recommended Posts

eURVOHc.jpg

Even with maximum brightness on the Main Panel "Back-lighting" the usual lighting will not come on.

Notice the MCP is dark. Problem began today after the 10/12 update on the Ops Center.

Here is the version installed. 1.20.8465

Using NGX 737-700WL

Which Simulator? I tried on the v4 here and do not see an issue. However I see that the lighting knobs are not correctly set on your PIC.

The further left one controls the back lighting of the knobs and the panels.

The middle one is the flood lights for the MIP

And the right one is the flood for the MCP

On your picture with the knobs positions the MCP should be darker as you have lower MCP flood intensity than MIP flood intensity.

If you beleive that there is a problem please post a screenshot with all three lighting knobs on the full position and make sure cockpit flood light is also OFF

P3D V4.1 The issue went away when I first started the sim this morning and tried it after restarting my PC. Now approaching dawn it continues. It dosen't matter what setting I choose it always does the same thing. The other knobs work fine as you can see in the video. Its just the Captain Back lighting one that is not controlling anything.

I saw the same thing yesterday on a flight that started during dusk hours. All the captain's side light plates were off, irrespective of the position of the "main panel" light switch. The lines on the knobs were lit and behaved as expected, however. I restarted the sim at nighttime and it worked fine. I'll try again during dusk hours and report back.

EDIT: Just checked the exact same scenario with which I started the flight yesterday and I can't duplicate the issue. It seems to work as advertised now. The flight yesterday was my first one with 4.1. Maybe some gremlins still needed to sort themselves out.

If you do the same during night does it work ok?

No it's not working. The first time was a night time flight and it never worked the entire flight.

Reporting the same problem.  I just completed a flight that went from daylight to dusk to night.  I have the exact same issue as reported and illustrated by the OP.

Not seeing the issue here. Are you using any mods? PTA, etc?

When I upgraded my shaders where untouched as they were the ones installed in the content installer for 4.1. The problem persisted on both occasions. I will try restoring my original P3D shaders on PTA and see if that fixes it.

Envtex is the only thing I can think of.  Well, and ASCA.

I tried reinstalling the default P3D shaders and it worked. I will note that it was basically using the scenario launching in night time. I have to test it to see if it will do the same thing again when I go from day to night.

FWIW, LM recommended this in their update/install directions.

To delete the shaders before installing new client?
