Hi Gerard,

I got something strange happening.... sometimes the horizon becomes very very bright like full bloom effect. If i will open some window like for example the settings screen and close it, it will dissaper after few seconds but it can come back after a while. Dont know what causing this.

Help ! which tweak causing this ??

Hi,

I have not experienced this . What happens If you try V8 or V9 ?

regards, Gerard

I have a different issue with V10. When I look straight ahead out of the VC, all runway and taxiway textures disappear and the surface is black. All other textures look okay and looking left and right is okay too. Reverting to default shaders fixes the problem.

In my cockpit I use the VC only with 3 seperate views : left front - front - right front. They are static views.

I have not experienced the issue you described and I make multiple flights per week at different times.

Like I wrote to the poster above , could you try V8 or V9 to see If it makes any difference ?

regards, Gerard

I think it has something to do with runway/taxiway materials that are not fully compatible with P3d4. I tried turning off "cast shadows on terrain" and dynamic reflections, but that didn't seem to matter. I will try earlier versions of your preset and see what happens. I have to figure out what add-on installed these textures and where the default P3d texture files are backed up.

Here I have Dyn Reflections and Dyn Lighting both enabled.

About 10 of my airports are fully V4 compatible. The other 20 are still V3 and 2-3 V2 compatible.

Fwiw : I use the normal scenery library methode with Scenery Config Editor and not the XML methode.

I normally have both those options enabled also. The problem occurs for me at all airports, so  now I'm pretty sure it's not your preset but rather some textures which are incompatible. Your preset just exposes this flaw. Anyway, I found the backed up P3d default taxiway and runway textures and copied them to the P3d main texture folder. I'll see later if that fixes the problem.

By the way Gerard, any chance you could check how to make the night lightning to go higher with the altitude. the last time we discussed about it it didnt work there was no ground texture after putting that line.

Hi Gerard,

Loving your presets and hard work - thank-you.

I am presently on v9.  I remember a previous preset of yours had nice black moonless nights where you couldn't see the clouds/terrain - this doesn't seem to be the case now?  Is there anything I can change that might help with that?

Cheers,

Rudy

Hi Rudy , what has changed overtime is that I now flying altitude , precipitation and time of day have their influence on terrain brightness.

I guess that if you check Turn off HDR in the HDR&Post-Processing section it might look like you want it.

If you look at my preset at the section Lighting , you will find Autogen emissive lighting. Two entries : Lioghts ratio nd Autogen ratio.

Exchange the - for a + ( so it says 3.0 +  ).  Instead of lowering the brightness with 0.8 when climbing it will now add 0.8.

Regards, Gerard
