Hi everyone.

Just wondering if there is a tweak inside PTA 2.6 that can allow me to lower the brightness that lights produce on buildings using Dynamic Lighting.

Im standing at EGLL using Aerosofts scenery and PMDG, and at night, with no VC light on, at the gate, cockpit looks practically iluminated completely.  Also buildings look way too bright!

Any thoughts?  Landing lights look good though.

Thanks!

I'll look into it. Personally, dynamic lighting causes me ridiculous FPS drops so I don't use it.

Perhaps you guys could try the tip below. It is for users of HDR ...

EGLL Manual :

P3D HDR Lighting

When using the P3D in game option of “HDR Lighting”:

Please rename the file ...London-Heathrow-Xtended_Airport /scenery/ “EGLLlichtlayer.BGL” to “EGLLlichtlayer.OFF”. Otherwise the light on the apron will be too bright.

I only have the V3 Heathrow and see the same bright white buildings after the having applied the tip.

Perhaps the V4 Heathrow has 100% compatibility with Dyn Lighting.

Regards, Gerard

I have EGLL v4 and it is too bright at night. Will try that fix you have suggested from the manual.

Thx

OK. There is an option in EGLL config tool for v4 where you can turn off dynamic lights on the aprons. I turned them off and I see aprons became a bit darker but not that much, however it gave me some fps boost. I was able to taxi with Taxi and RWY turnoff lights ON at night with 8xSSAA and I had around 22-28 fps. If I turn fixed lights ON then fps drop down to 12-18 but still not too bad, before fps were around 5. With all lights ON fps around 10-12.

Perhaps you should ask AS as imho the white buildings are still too bright after the tweak..

Even with Dyn Lighting Off and no HDR.

Regarding framerate loss with Dyn Lighting On : go to spotplane view and turn around the aircraft 5 times. Than go back to your cockpit and check the framerate...

regards, Gerard

Sorry to bring this up again, but is it possible that the DL performance is ruined by PTA? Any thoughts on this?
