Orbx Interstate lights look blown out in v4

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone has experanced the overly bright interstate lights in V4 and if so is this normal or is there a way to fix this.  I run Orbx NA, LC and Vector. I also use PTA and Envtex which due not seem to be the cause of this.

You have to turn off HDR at night to deal with this anomaly.  You can also play around with PTA presets to find one that looks good at night - most don't.

I don’t use HDR on in my settings. Even with default shaders restored it looks like this.

I quite like flying at night in ORBX country, mind you I do it typically at less than FL50 in the Twin Otter mostly in Australia. I spent a fair bit of time with the ORBX Light configurator which can make some huge differences to the bloom in their lighting. I toned things down in brightness and size like the red brake lights and the blue lighting because it seemed to big and bright on a 4k screen.

My lights look nothing like your picture.

This is with hdr on and a pta preset active in PNW region.

I use the default ini 1.13 that came with PTA. I restored the default shaders with same results.

I suggest trying a reinstall of the orbx libraries, in the main p3d directory go to orbx then versions and the txt file with orbx libraries in the name delete it, re-run ftx central and get all the updates. If that is not it try deleting the txt file of orbx global and go to ftx central after to activate global again.

Sounds like a plan.

I use Black Marble (with Orbx FTX Global, Vector and OpenLC) and night lights blow away Orbx night lights.

Your suggestion fix my problem. Thanks a bunch. I can now enjoy flying at night again.
