FsLabs a320 released for P3Dv4

Recommended Posts

Stefan, you should start the sim with a default plane at your airport and then change the vehicle to the FSlabs bus.

As stated on our forum, it's not crashing in our code - it's crashing in P3D code. We'll provide them with a crash dump in an effort to assist them. In the mean time, perhaps you'd like to bring this to their attention on their forum as well. The more people that raise this issue with them, the more chance there is of LM fixing this VR issue in 4.1.

I'll certainly do so, Andrew. The thing is that despite it being their code that crashes, it's only the A320 that does this to their code. As I've mentioned, PMDG, A2A, Alabeo and Carenado all work fine in VR in P3D, no stability problems at all (I've been VR flying the heck out of 4.1 since release!). So I suspect from LM's point of view, it's a little bit different than if 4.1 had a general issue with stability in VR.

Don't really understand this statement... I have better performance in Prepar3D V4 than in Prepar3D V3.

You're lucky, that doesn't seem to be most people's experience. Have a read through the performance tweaking in 4.1 thread on the FSL forum: https://forums.flightsimlabs.com/index.php?/topic/13942-performance-tweaking-for-v4/&page=2

From my reading, the majority of people aren't getting great performance. That's OK, it's only a day or so since release, plenty of time for improvements to be made . Still, doesn't hurt to ask the devs to look at this, I'm sure anyone who's bought into this aircraft wants it flying as fast as smooth as possible.

Now, I'm off to check out the A320 night lighting in VR mode...

I have better performance, better textures, texture loading, smoother, everything is far better.

Okay loaded EGLL gate 539 with tonights weather and fps whent down to 17-22FPS. I also noticed that when you roll FPS is dropping.

Back to setup. What is your Display fps in the MCDU?

Thanks Michael Moe

That was the solution :-) Thanks!

Now I am up and running but cannot figure out how to load the FP from PFPX despite of following the Introduction Guide.

I export the PLN file to P3Dv4 Files and enter the name into the CO ROUTE, but it keeps saying: NOT IN DATABASE :-(

Sorry for hijacking this with my noooooob questions :-) Just gotta update the AIRAC cycle, I found somewhere that this might be the problem.

Night lighting is very good in VR. Dynamic landing lights are more effective at illuminating the ground than most aircraft I've flown. Internal cockpit lights - the integrated panel lights, and the spot lights - are very atmospheric.

Just a short flight from KTYS, some nighttime test-flying and then back for a landing at the same airport. I enjoyed it, and frame rates were tolerable - they're low, but they're reasonably consistent. Getting around 22 FPS with the Oculus CV1, with all sliders full left initially. Good news is that - with the very low frames - GPU isn't taxed at all, so you can definitely turn on all the dynamic lighting, in all its glory, without any performance impact whatsoever. So an enjoyable flight, but I'd likely want more frames to fly a longer stint.

To be fair its took them 7 years to make the CRJ, and even then that was released in a pre alpha state

"They" did not make anything. The CRJ was developed solely by Hans Hartmann. Aerosoft is simply the publisher.

It's the fact that they published it in the first place when it clearly needed more time in beta. They sold it as a completed product, not one branded to be in beta like TFDI did with their 717.

Load the bus in p3d. Then do your plan in Pfpx. Then print your OFP with the Pfpx format.. Under your list of printers you should see a new one... ;)

I have VC Display set at the lowest you can set 6 FPS (or it was in v3)

2D pop ups 12FPS

I also have these setting in the PMDG's

Because my setup is one monitor above the other. ( very bad screen shot but you get the idea.)

@swiesma: No, it's a free download. Although, I'm a little confused why FSL didn't bundle the Spotlights installer with the 320 installer. I've seen a ton of posts complaining the lighting isn't working properly. But, I'm sure they have their reasons!
