Turboprops for P3D V4? (not carenado)

Recommended Posts

Quick Question-- anyone aware of any decent turboprop aircraft for v4?

I'm aware of Carenado, but wanted something with a bit more system depth. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi,

The one that comes to my mind quickly is the Flysimware Cessna 441. But much more system depht? No not really, nevertheless it's a nice aircraft, in my opinion.

Yup, the Flysimware Cessna C441 Conquest II is a very good turboprop for P3D, certainly recommended if you want realism. Another good one is the Aerosoft OV-10 Bronco, which certainly is a turboprop, but probably not the kind of thing you had in mind since it is a military aircraft, but it is great and is also recommended.

What's not to like about a twin turboprop aeroplane which is realistically modeled with stuff like hot starts, engine fires etc, comes in a load of cool paint jobs, works in FSX and P3D, gets great frame rates, is armed to the teeth, looks like it's ready to drop some colonial marines on LV426, has a smoke generator, and in which you can do this:

Flight 1 KingAir 200 will be ready for P3D 4.1 soon. Great aircraft with very good system modeling, and very capable G1000 which is getting an upgrade to include vector routes. A super all around turboprop!

The Majestic Dash-8 Q400 and the PMDG Jetstream 4100 are both decent systems airplanes.  A lot of the turboprops get much (most) of the engine dynamics way wrong by depending on the horrible internal simulation of a turboprop in the core simulation itself, starting with the telltale change in *pitch* when power is applied at a constant prop RPM.  The engine noise shoud get louder, not higher in pitch, when the power levers are advanced once the prop is at its operating RPM.  You'll know you have a chance at a decent simulation if the developer does not immediately answer a question about that with "limitations of the FSX/P3D engine."  That limitation is a speed bump, not a wall, and at least a few of the devs have found a way to do it properly.

That's much needed!  Looking forward to seeing that in the Mustang.  I suppose VNAV was too much to hope for.

VNAV would be nice, both the KA200 and Mustang are getting some updates in P3D 4.x, so right now not sure what all they will included? But looking forward to both of them.

Can't wait for the Flight1 King Air v4 -- one of my favorites to fly in v3.

Any speculation on release date for v4 JS4100 and F1 King Air 200?

Don’t forget the Flysimware MU-2. One of the best turboprops available for P3D. And as others have stated the Q400 is coming out tomorrow. That is the one I am highly anticipating.
