FSLabs A320 or upcoming AS A320 for v4?

It's a matter of how much you want to pay really. Paying the price for a Ford Fusion won't get you a Lamborghini Huracan. People just wanting a somewhat accurate simulation of an Airbus who just want the A320 and don't care about if the underlying systems aren't accurately simulated will go for the AS and people wanting a fully fledged and accurate A320 simulation will go for the FSL. It just depends on how much you are willing to pay and if you value the accurateness of the FSL $100 more than the AS.

Just read on the AS forum that the AS Airbus APU will take shorter or longer to start up depending on the situation and condition. And that the FSLabs seems to have a fixed startup time. Not quite realistic. How's that for accurate simulation.:rolleyes::laugh:

I wouldn't buy it and no go to a forum and start complaining about how hard life is or how poor I am -.-

Did neither. How about staying on topic instead of using hyperbole? I'm concerned about young people coming into and growing this hobby. This hobby grew because of freeware and reasonably priced software later. I started my interest in flightsimming with SubLogics FS  II in a Commodore 64 as a student in school. I grew with it. But the hobby has not grown exponentially  with what was a top 20 in sales for software when it was the MS incarnation because the cost of addons has deterred growth and interest. So I can be  a selfish  caricature like you or I can  express a rational opinion.

 Ryzen 7 5800x, 64gb, 7900XTX 24gb

Well, then why don't you start programming some freeware? :-)

And give free support to all those complaining m*rons? :-) Bet this is fun!

"Caricature".... lol.

Apart from the pricing which has been discussed here extensively enough now, what is even more important to me is the frame rate hit.

The Aerosoft Buses will probably be less hard on the FPS than the FSLabs Bus, simply because there isn't so much simulated in the background.

We will have to wait and see until the Aerosoft release how much better the FPS will be than with the FSLabs.

If one could gain say 20 - 30 % FPS with the Aerosoft Buses over the FSLabs one would have to consider if the in-depth simulation is worth that. Or if one would rather spend the saved FPS for other things like scenery and higher settings.

Come on. No way...

You probably misread that and think he's talking about/compafring AS with FSLabs...

He meant the new *AS* ones will be pretty much the same as the current *AS* ones (the ones already out that are not compatible with p3d v4)

Wait and see... We have actualy no points for evaluations... Yes sure that fsl 320 is the must, the must have for very "rich system"... And competent simmers.

I think that most of 90% (with me) don't be able to manage a near real 320 as do this addon. Don't forget that real pilote receive a lot of informations on systems, difficult to have as simmers.

yes waiting to decide

However, the thing is: to me flying GA or airliners are two completely different 'games'.  I have totally different priorities when I fly GA than when I fly an airliner.

Another excellent point and one more that tends to get lost in conversations like this.  There are several different kinds of flightsimmer participating in this discussion.  Many of you are exclusive, hardcore airliner simmers, and for you, it makes sense that the FSL Airbus is a fantastic offering - it will keep you completely engaged and give you years of enjoyment.  Maybe you'll wind up flying it exclusively - a sort of hobby within the hobby within the hobby.

But for those of us like me and Jeroen who jump around among several different kinds of aircraft (in my case there's private GA and a couple of warbirds and a bush plane or two and some propliners), and if you only fly a tubeliner once a week or every other week or a couple of times a month, it's very hard, and not necessarily rewarding, to jump into something like the FSL Bus or a PMDG and try to come back up to speed.  So the "driver assistance package" in the Aerosoft bus is actually a big advantage when I want to scratch a tubeliner itch.

Time is a factor too, as others here have pointed out.  One of the reasons I fly GA and propliners is that I can get them into the air faster.  I love the full procedural drill of a modern airliner but can't get to it often.  So again, there's something like the Aerosoft for those of us that need a helping hand.

Horses for courses, as my English friends apparently like to say...

That Topic is Full of BS.

This is one of the most ridiculous statements I've had the misfortune to read.

Seriously, the present state of the A320 Series (32 bit for FSX and P3DV3) are highly competitive with the other A320.  More expensive never means better!  The Aerosoft AIrbuses are not only substantially lower coast (we have a huge customer base which helps us do that), one also gets two aircraft and for just a little bit more you can get 4 different Airbuses - plus the existing Airbuses work on FSX and P3D without customers being charged a second time!  If you're seeing this how I do, you know that Aerosoft is firmly committed to it's customers and treating them right!

"More expensive never means better!"

Really!

So an Audi is not better than a Dacia and a Roll Royce is not better than a Audi.

one also gets two aircraft and for just a little bit more you can get 4 different Airbuses

No you dont get two aircraft or 4 you just get half a VC and a fake other half and external models nothing else.

The saying thats fits better is "You get what you pay for " granted it not always right but "More expensive never means better!"

Like you get more than one working MCDU, more than one side of the VC working, Pop up screens unlike Mr Kok showing making new views "Undocking views is a standard function of the sim".

O and light that works like lights and a simulation of an aircraft as in using P3D as a "simulator"  not playing as a captain "game".

Anyone can enjoy it for what it is, each to there own but don't start trying to compare the two please, because its like buying one from here

Its not that I don't get why people would and should enjoy Aerosoft's "Captain simulation" I just find it ridiculous when people try to make out it's a better simulation of what it is ..an A320

a sort of hobby within the hobby within the hobby.

A sort of church within the church within the church.

Least weeks follow a lot of topics and keep impression that someones placed the tubes and very hard core addons over other kind of categories. As you Alan and a lot of simmers. I think that important is not the type of aircrafts you have the knowledges but only the pleassures of... Flying.

Understand me well, like to fly some tubes too. 😏😎

Dave, I laughed out loud at your comparison pics there. Nice one mate. From what you quoted it all sounds a bit... Desperate? Over in the Aerosoft camp.

At the end of the day they both have their target markets. But if your the kind of person who may... Just may... Be interested in something more substantial than the Aerosoft Airbus, then think wisely before assuming the FSL is too deep for you. You might end up buying them both!

If you look at the top picture you can see she has gone for the "4" bundle Neil

But anyone buying it can say they have "The A320 Professional" Version.

I sense a feeling of superiority from those who own the FSL product.  Perhaps it is justifying paying that much for a virtual aircraft.  Sorry folks, at the end of the day, they are only model airplanes designed to work on our computers.  My bank account is much lighter from all of the products purchased for the various Microsoft versions and now from all of the P3D platforms, aircraft, scenery, weather, etc.  It does not matter a whit to me if you pay high prices for a model or not.  What matters is I enjoy flying my PMDG, Aerosoft, TDFi, or even a stock prop or my A2A or RealAir with a yoke and pedals or joystick.  If you enjoy your simming then let others do the same with their choice of platform and aircraft.

Could not disagree more.

Its the only airliner I know  that on a long taxi almost stay on line all the time it needed the minimum of steering to keep it that way unlike PMDG. The tiller is perfect for corning.

I use Rudders and I have no problem with braking to whatever speed I need , Brake down to 7Ks and I can hit that target every time From any speed.

Then you must be lucky. If I push down the pedals they are synchronous with the pedals in the VC throughout the range (how it should be). But a small tip on the pedals is sufficient that the bus comes to a complete stop. In other forums, the users report the same, but it seems to depend on hardware. Users that use keyboards have no braking problems. Even a slope up to 10 in FSUIPC does not solve this.

Regards,

Chris
