Hi guys,

I'm new to simming but I've recently bought FSlabs A320 for P3D 4.1 (Awesome) I've now also bought MCE to assist me and although I appear to have set it up correctly (the voice at the end of the setup wizard tells me so) I cannot see anything when I open FS labs within P3D. There is no new add on listed next FSUIPC for example and it is clear that I am talking to myself. 

I've had a look in the P3D folder and there is an MCC folder in the addon list with a series of files in it but I cannot see the user interface listed anywhere when I operate P3D.

No doubt it's something that should be obvious but what is it that I'm missing? Anybody?

Welcome aboard aidanlegras

MCE is designed on purpose to run as an external process for better stability of the simulators (FSX/P3D/FS9) and in 32 Bit sims case to prevent speech engine eating valuable VAS.

We only have a couple of lean dlls running inside the simulator process (fsInsider64.dll + 1 of thje dlls in <MCE dlls> folder, depending on which aircraft is detected), providing MCE with the flight insight it needs.

When Windows UAC is enabled, and we don't recommend disabling it, you must...

 

1 - Install to default C:\Program Files (x86)

2 - Set "Prepar3D.exe" to run as administrator.

Start P3D, wait until aircraft is ready to fly.

Start MCE using the desktop brownish icon.

Once MCE connects to the sim, your co-pilot will come alive.

Ah ha, now I see. I read information about why the user interface wa set up that way but I see that P3D has to be minimised and then the icon run separately.

Now that it is running though it is saying that it cannot detect the aircraft (FS Labs A320) could you tell me how to rectify this please?

Where did you install the FsLabs aircraft to?

\My documents\ folder or other?

In that case, it's very likely the aircraft folders would have been put in \My Documents\Prepar3D v4 add-ons\ folder.

See this thread for a patch that will detect those locations.

Thank you so much Gerald. That seems to have started the ball rolling now. 

Ill go through and read the rest of the manual now and learn how to operate it.
