Germany South Part I

Recommended Posts

Germany South Part I : Castles, towns, and rivers

We start at the small airport of Betzdorf-Kirchen (EDKI) and visit many cities, castles and monuments until we land at Speyer (EDRY). Landings enroute include Bonn-Hangelar (EDKB), Merzbruck (EDKA), Dahlemer Binz (EDKV), Winningen (EDRK), Buchel AB (ETSB), Mainz-Finthen (EDRZ), Worms (EDFV) and Mannheim (EDFM).

Flightplan & Pilots Guide:
Available here.

Aircraft:
The route is 284 miles, well suited for going low and slow again. I'll fly the A2A C182, but as always, the choice is yours.

Recommended scenery:
Orbx Germany South.

All airports we land on are enhanced (like in all full regions from ORBX), so no other addons are required.

Particulars:
Date and time: Saturday October 28, 2017, 18:00 UTC
Where: AVSIM RTWR Teamspeak - Casual Flights Channel
Teamspeak Server Address: ts.teamavsim.com
Cross-Platform Multiplayer: JoinFS. (FSX, FSX-SE, and P3D)
If you want to help others enjoy the multiplayer experience, don't forget to enter your aircraft details on the multiplayer spreadsheet (linked here). Your courtesy will save others a lot of time and effort. Thanks!

Recommend that you set your initial clock to 13:45 hours in local time to account for flight time and the usual "faffing about" time.

Neat stuff... I believe Ricki and I slept in one of these Hotel/Castles years ago...

BTW:  Is "Dahlemer Binz" local dialect for Daimler Benz?

Just finished the narrative and I can confirm that there will be lots, and lots, and lots of castles on the tour.   There is a rumor (which I am starting now) that Gunter will be administering a quiz, so be sure to prepare.

I've heard a rumour that Gunter will be having quins. Perhaps we should have a whip round for him.

A 1999 arrival of the Ukrainian An-22 into Speyer for display in the museum. Three approaches to give the crowd something to see. No worries.

You can choose either the Antonov film or the Museum film.

Great flight today!

This is the hotel that Ricki and I stayed at:

Click on the map at the bottom for a detailed view of where we flew today..

Great map! One day we could track the Rhine from Lake Constance to the North Sea, that would be an interesting flight!

Sorry I missed this flight. Grands Prix have that effect. Well done Lewis!

I'm going to do the flight in the week.
