A320 vs 737-8900 for short flights

Which one do you prefer for shorter flights and why? I'm assuming the A320 is much more automated than the 737... probably even more automated than a 777 or 787 as well...

I dont like one more than the other the FSL done properly keeps you just as busy as the PMDG NG.

Very different and personally love both for what they are. They both add up to 90% of the time I fly. 

65% FSL A320

25% PMDG NG

10% TDFi 717.

737 is my favourite airliner, it is a lovely looking aeroplane and it has a basic functionality which makes it fun to mess about with.

Yeah the A320 is a vastly more efficient and advanced aeroplane than the 737, but the F-35 is newer and more efficient than the F-86 and if somebody was to offer me a flight in either of those, that F-35 would for damn sure be staying on the ground. Same thing with the A320 and the 737.

Both are great and I split time with FSL and PMDG.  Since FSL just came out for v4, my last bunch have flights both short and long, have been with that.  However, the time between the release of V4 and the FSL release was 90% in the NGX and 10% in the 777.

It's a toss-up for me. The NGX was my first proper airliner so I've still got a soft spot for it. The A320 has my full attention at the moment though. 

It's like the 737 is a stick shift and the Airbus an automatic!

TDFi is actually pretty nice especially if you’d like something a little different. If you liked the msg md11 cockpit you’ll like this.

Pmdg 737, any model, is great for short or long flights. I haven’t got FSL A320 yet. Not part of the list if you’d like something really different and real fun...the PMDG DC6 is great.

I go in streaks. I'll favour one for several weeks, then switch to another. I have no bus at the moment since moving to p3d v4, so it's either the ngx or the 717 and right now, I'm on a 717 kick.

Its kind of a silly question. For every person who says a 737 some will say an A320. Its like asking do you prefer a Ford or GM. Pointless

Both are different in their own way. A320 is much more automated and makes much more things for you.

If you have experience in classic airliners, 737 will become familiar to you right away, there are so many common features.

If you don't have experience with Airbuses, at the beginning you could feel overwhelmed and confused like a member of Air France 447. Lots of strange alarms, text warnings, modes etc. Sentences like 'Why?' and 'I don't understand' would become your new mantra . However, once you understand it, it becomes fun to fly.

I have bought A320 just because I was curious of how Airbus differs from other airplanes and how does Fly-by-wire work.
