I would go ahead and update to P3Dv4.1 now-Content only

Orbyx is ready for it-Fastlane works

A2A Accusim have updated to 4.1 and your A2A planes just spin on a sixpence if not in 4.1

Flight1 GTN 750 etc have updated to 4.1

We are on a treadmill! If you do not keep up -your AddOns run the risk of not working-especially if you try to update them

Standing still does not seem to be an option 

All seems to be working with me.Smoother-I do not know -but if I don’t update things start to malfunction 

My flight sim however is getting more and more sophisticated and seems to work with out OOMs and crashes.

Question:

I recently  migrated from p3dv3 to V4.0.  Today I had all the PMDG planes  installed, along with ORBX, UT Live, Flytampa airports.  All works great.  With FSUIPC new version 5 installed, I get blank screen.  I now see latest version of FSUIPC needs P3dv4.1.  Darn these updates.  So is the P3dV4.1 update a whole new install, where I have to re-install planes,scenery etc.?  Or just an update where nothing is affected and there is no need to re-install anything?

Depends on how you do it. If you just install the client, you'll have no issues.

Look at the release notes and decide if any of the other changes in the other modules ( Content, Scenery) are important to you. If not - move on and just install the client.

I am likely one of the few users who found the scenery update in 4.1 indispensable.

My home airport is Baltimore (KBWI), and prior to the 4.1 update, an aircraft approaching the terminal area would physically "crash" for no apparent reason.

I and a couple others complained to LM, and imagine my surprise when they fixed it!
