5512 USG Tank Capacity MOD Status

Recommended Posts

Hi Dear Devs, Captains,

In an earlier post back in September "cbpowell" from the dev team hinted that the current 8 tank/3322 USG fuel capacity might be increased to 8/tank/5512 USG (per the original V5-NCG config).

Therefore we could fly longer range, trans-US flights. Is this mod. plan still valid? Just to keep up our hopes.

(Anyway, an extraordinary addon! I'm still at the begining of a steep learning curve of a astonishingly complicated aircraft of the large-piston era. Still, a lot of fun! Congrats again PMDG!)

Cheers,

Tamas

Hello!
you're not the onyl one, but it has been said it would be included in a future PMDG Update...

And for now we did'nt hear anything new. But I think (and hope!) it will come anytime this year :)

I've been following this post with interest...has anyone else noticed that there already exists an "A" and "B" fuel configuration in the 6B air file? I've used the B configuration without issue.

What? In the air file??? Could you give us more details? Frankly, I simply can not believe that PMDG introduced a mod/upgrade without notice to the customers.

Cheers,

Fuel gauges will not indicate higher than 19,932 lbs. Of course the fueling manager doesn't either, but that's not a surprise. Seems the fuel manager distributes fuel to all tanks equally on a percentage basis (eg., 50% total fuel = 50% of each tanks' capacity). If you switch all tanks to ALT after takeoff then for several? hours you will not know the amount of FOB until the ALT tank gauges move. Need to remember/record how much fuel is in the mains to calculate from that point on... Once you switch to the MAIN tanks you will again encounter a period in which you have no idea the amount of fuel left...

I have undone any changes made to the provided files. 🙂

We wait for PMDG to do their magic. 😐
