GTN 750 + default Cessna 172

Recommended Posts

Sorry to beat this horse to death..I've read through the thread and I'm still a bit confused. I own the RXP GTN 750 (love it..same unit is in the Citation I fly for a living) and was hoping to have the combination of:

Laminar 172SP + PropStrike Bush + GTN 750 + REP...is this possible? Also, is the GTN clickable using the VR mouse pointer?

Thanks for all the hard work on this. I'm totally fine with whatever matrix of products works..!

Hi @BeachAV8R

The GTN 750 (with a 3D bezel and screen) wouldn't work in the PropStrike Bush kit unless the cockpit has been modified to add it to the panel. I think the Bush kit is (still) focused on reproducing a vintage panel without any "modern" GPS.
As the REP also modifies the animations references for the cockpit, a REP-compatible version would have to be created as well.
Maybe you could ask the guys at PropStrike Studio if they plan to add a GTN option for their 172 bush kit? (otherwise, the 2D window is the current option)

Hi

Just re-installed my XP11.36r1. Would like to know if the latest version of this super great mod is still 1.0.7z as I downloaded now?

If not, can I then get a new link?

Thanks and BR

Lars

@larsras05
Hi Lars,
There's no new version available for that mod.

My interest had shifted towards a backcountry/bush retrofit version you can see in the video above.
I'm using non-freeware data for that version so I can't share it.
If it were easier to import and edit the LR 172 cockpit object I would have updated it but unfortunately there's no reliable import plugin and every time something goes wrong and it's hardcore editing time - which is obviously not that fun and time consuming 😉

You can still use the mod (w/ the temporary fix) and make a few tweaks by comparing the .acf files with the current LR 172SP. The AP is easy to switch but the additional buttons in the cockpit will be missing (cockpit object related).
I didn't recently test a REP installation over it, so I'm not sure what would happen but it's likely the animations for the mixture lever and fuel pump gauge would be broken.

Hello i am using X-Plane 11.40 and would love to integrate the RXP750 Touch inside the Default C172 and the Carenado FA33 Bonanza. I could integreate the 750 in to the FA33 however only the popup is active. THe Gauge of the 3D Cockpit is still just black.

Cheers

Stefan

Thank you for this post and for the work that went into your design of this mod.  It seems - so far, at least - to work perfectly.

Hi all,

I'm trying to get the REP mod to work but I still get the default avionics in the 750 frame as seen in the pic. But works perfect in the default 172SP.

Thanks for any help.20200706204923_1b30e01d5ddb4b2b5.jpg

*EDIT

Never-mind working now. I foolishly had the MOD folder in the REP172 folder without taking out the contents Doh!!! Thanks for this great mod!

If you're wanting to use @Bourrinopathe original mod with the newer Laminar Cessna 172, you can find it here: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/65361-laminar-cessna-172-gtn-750650/

All I did was take his original work and apply it to the newer model.

You should not have any issues with it -- I did test it with REP and cannot find any problems.

All click points/etc remain and work.

This is my contribution to Burrino being so kind to let me use his 3D models in my integrations and giving me the inspiration to do these when I tested his first rendition. 🙂

Thanks @Ither for adding the GTN to the newer model.

Can you do the same for the amphibian version ?

I would love to see the GTN here too,

Thanks,

Marc.

It's in there -- I added it to Seaplane last night and uploaded.

No problem! I added more to it -- Avitab and Garmin G5 by AFM.
