PMDG Product was unable to create its work files

Dear fellow pilots,

after upgrading to P3D v4.1, I downloaded the latest PMDG737-800/900 pack (V1.20.8465) and installed it under Win10 with Administrative privileges. 
Now, whenever I start P3D (as Administrator !), select the 737 in the scenario setup and hit OK, I always get a warning:

"PMDG Debug:

Warning: the PMDG product was unable to create its work files.
Please make sure that you are running Prepar3D as administrator."

and P3D quits.

Everything is already running as Administrator.

I am stuck and really appreciate any suggestions !!!

What anti-virus program are you running? What other add-on aircraft are you using? What is the default aircraft in your sim?

The problem is solved !!!

My Anti-Virus Program is Norton Security. Disabling it did not bring the solution.

Additional aircraft are FSLabs A320X (latest Version) and A2A Cessna 172.
FSLabs A320X was Default. There was the problem. I made one of the P3D delivered ACFT the default, restarted P3D and now I can switch to PMDG 737 and everything works nicely.

Disabling after-market anti-virus programs has no real effects. It will still get in the way because that's how they're made now, it seems.

Yep. Had a feeling you had that plane and set it as the default.

Never set a complex plane as a default - ours or anyone else's. It's not a good idea in general.

Are you saying that we should running no AV at all?  

I have for the moment excluded my complete D:// (is where P3D is running with all sim-related stuff) and C:// Program >Files (x86)\ ...

Should i exclude any more directories?

For the moment i have no problems at all (Win 10 - NO 1709 update yet - P3D4.1)

I suppose excluding drives or directories is sufficient for normal operation of P3D?

No after-market AV, correct. Defender is quite enough.

If there are any directories related to your sim, yes.
