Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas support

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm at the point of installing/connecting my new HOTAS Thrustmaster Warthog.

Now i wonder if i need to install some drivers or other installers from Thrustmaster itself before i can use my HOTAS with Linda?

Are there some users who can enlighten my at this point?

I use it with Win10/64bit and P3Dv4.1

Hi William

It is recommended that you do not install additional software when using LINDA as these can mutually interfere with each other. It does mean that you will need to assign all the buttons in LINDA. Remember all axes need to be assigned in P3D or FSUIPC5 to work. Also you will need a registered version of FSUIPC5 to work with LINDA.

Thanks Andrew,

FSUIPC is registered with latest version 5.121c, and i am aware of the capabilities of LINDA, just wondering if the "stock drivers" from THRUSTMASTER are needed or better not, but that you have answered already:ha:

Been using the Warthog for about 2  years now with just the OS software, never installed their drivers and it's always worked perfectly.

I have used TMs Target software for years to drive FSX and now PVDv4. No Problems.

No LINDA for me yet. I have also used the TARGET software with Rise of Flight, DCS and even Trainsim. I have been toying with learning the LINDA regime but as I know target and it works, I've never really got enough impetus to get into LINDA

I use it a lot longer now and also without any drivers, LINDA and not any problems

I was about to try TARGET together with LINDA when I wanted the TMWH APU start/on/off switch to work with LINDA, or perhaps direct through FSUIPC .LUA command file assignment.

The problem is one needs a sequence to get past the 'on' and then 'start' position.

Just then I took a look at the
"..\Prepar3D v4\Modules\linda\aircrafts\PMDG 737NGX\actions.lua"

and one can just edit the actions.lua by combining the 2 APU commands on/start to new sequence,

even from within LINDA 'edit' function.
search " -- $$ APU " for the menu drop down header then combine and add 'on' and 'start', underscores are needed for spaces:

function NGX_APU_on_and_start()
    if ipc.readLvar('ngx_switch_118_a') < 50 then
        ipc.control(PMDGBaseVar+118, PMDG_ClkL)
    end
    if ipc.readLvar('ngx_switch_118_a') == 50 then
        ipc.control(PMDGBaseVar+118, PMDG_ClkL)
        NGX_APU_show()
    end
end

et voila,

can be assigned to 'release' APU START (OFF, for I want a down movement like in the NGX)
