.Indeed i cant see destination or arrivals or runways on my FMC updated to 1712 Airac from Navigraph,VHHX only is not existing as destination on my FMC ,any other airports do appear on my FMC,AIRAC 1712r.1 is correct. Thanks again and appreciated.

Hi CPT747,

Do you use Navigraph's automatic Data Manager?  Download link here:

https://www.navigraph.com/FMSDataManager.aspx

It installs airacs in the correct folders automatically.

Hi Mike777,

Sorry for my delayed answer ;

I do use or i have to use the Aerosofts server for the Navigraph-AIRAC-updates,since i have purchased it from Aerosoft itself. This is a abonnement for 13 updates in a year. The link for names NDP.Maybe the problem issue is here, altough i have the confirmation that the update was successfully and the installation is okay. The FMC

says: AIRAC 1712r.1 is active and valid until Dec.to the next update date.I hope i could give you a little more information about the situation.it is confused.Thanks.

Yes, it was only Navigraph that updated their navigation data to include VHHX. Aerosoft didn't do this. There's your problem.

CPT747, as Kevin said, mit Aerosoft nicht VHHX - nur Navigraph hat VHHX.(sorry for my terrible German).

I have downloaded the PMDG V.5.0 file and installed in FSX but no success with,i get the notify in FMC:Not in database,i give up.Many thanks for your input and support

Try the http://www.vapap.com/kai-tak-airport installer specifically for Aerosoft, PMDG Version 4.0.  Also, the manual installation instructions may work.

As far as I know, only Navigraph has begun including Kai Tak (VHHX) in its FMC data, beginning with Airac 1712.

Hi Mike, do you think after installing AIRAC 1712 we don't need to enter data manually as in the past for VHHX? Must be cool then to install the new AIRAC 1712.

Yes, as long as you get the Airac from Navigraph

Mike you are right. VHHX came back to AIRAC 1712. I have subscription with AIRAC as well. Only found one missing info for FSX and fs9 sim, Level-D which the Airport.dat file needs to add after VHHH the line VHHX 22.316959 114.202621 to complete. PMDG, PSS and iFly has VHHX included.

Also found CASABLANCA info is missing but here is what I entered:

I flew into Kai Tak until just before it closed.  In fact I still have my DoD plates for it.  Always flew the approach using raw data even on the MD-11.

Hi Patricio,

Level-D 1712Airports.dat file is missing entry for VHHX in my version too.

It would be good to post about these errors on the Navigraph forum.  Hopefully they can be fixed before the next airac is released.

Hi Wilhelm,

That must be a truly amazing experience!  I have never flown to Hong Kong in real life (as a passenger) and of course if I ever do it will be far too late for Kai Tak.

I am also curious as to what you mean by flying "raw data."  I take this to mean following the LOC/GS hand flying, possibly with no FD or map display.  But after the start of the turn, AFAIK there is no more FD or map guidance or ILS (except for GS pip, which is somewhat useful).   AFAIK there was never an RNAV approach (which would have provided guidance through the turn).  At KDCA, somewhat similar approach, there is an RNAV approach available which sets up the aircraft nicely for landing.  Would you be willing to describe your technique in more detail?

Thanks,

Mike

I can see that program from the tab it appears that is only for P3D. Will work for FSX? If so, how to get it?

I found it, amazing yes. I have to learn how to use it properly.

The amazing was more aiming at the fact that I can see the old procedures now only days after getting Navigraph data support.

Check the two tutorials which are linked in the help menu.

And now better back to topic ...

Hi Zoran,

EDIT: I just realized you may have used a separate VHHX installer.  This is no longer necessary.  Recent airacs from Navigraph now include VHHX data.  The installer may have messed up the files.  You will need to reinstall the airac from Navigraph.

If you didn't use a separate installer:

I have Airac 1807.  I just loaded up a QOT 747 and found no problem setting VHHX as the destination (but only after entering my departure airport first).

If it's the 777 or 747, try deleting ARPT_RWY.dat found in ...FSX\PMDG\NavData .  It is not part of the airac's navdata.  It's a cache file that will rebuild the next time you load thee 777 or 747.  You can back it up if you want outside of the Navdata folder.

If that doesn't work or it's a different PMDG aircraft, there are a few other files to check.  But this would be the simplest solution.

Thanks Mike! success !

I was loading the only flight plan I had saved in the PMDG777 but it was taking off from VHHX for testing. Followed your advice and made it the destination which of course it should be and its all there

Hi, Zoran,

I just noticed in another thread you said you still have Navigraph airac 1309 showing for PMDG.  That doesn't have VHHX.  But recent Navigraph airacs do.  Once you have the current airac installed, you don't need to run a separate VHHX installer.

Where did you get PMDG v5?

Try this …. and I hope it helps.

Check file Airports.dat for:

VHHX 22.316959 114.202621

and also check file wpNavAPT.txt for:

HONG KONG KAI TAK       VHHX31 10930316 22.305500 114.214500109.9031600015
HONG KONG KAI TAK       VHHX13 10930136 22.321667 114.196667111.9008800015

also add to wpNavAID.txt for:

IGS LLZ/DME RWY 13      KL   ILSD 22.003299 114.104167111.90T
LLZ/DME RWY 31          IIHK ILSD 22.324500 114.193667109.90T
CH36X                   GP   NDB  22.326667 114.191333333.00N
HONG KONG INTL          RW   NDB  22.326667 114.191333337.00N
IGS RWY 13              GP   NDB  22.326833 114.092500331.00N

and finally create a file named VHHX.txt to be placed in SIDSTARS folder:
