EGKK London Gatwick SIDs

Recommended Posts

I am preparing for a flight from EGKK London Gatwick to EGPF Glasgow in the PMDG 737-600 NGX. I have been looking at the SIDs for a runway 26L departure, and it seems that the best departure north is to use the TIGER 1X SID. However, this involves turning south and east after take off, and then turning north to the Lambourne VOR. Is this the best option? I had assumed that there would be a departure that involved turning directly north after take off, but maybe this would conflict with Heathrow airspace? Is that correct?

I think Tiger is an ATC tactical SID used to alleviate congestion. LAM is normal for northerlies.

So is there another (more direct) route to LAM if congestion is not an issue?

EDIT: I have just noticed LAM 2X that includes a right turn after take off, and then east to KKE35, before turning north to LAM. I can use that one another day, since I already have the TIGER 1X SID programmed into the FMC for this flight
