FSX to different platform, such as P3D? Yes.

P3D to newer version of P3D? No.

However, you may be required to obtain current installers from whoever sold you the box.  Installers older than mid-2017 will not install to P3Dv4.

Nooooope. The license is non-transferable. No sales - box or download.

I misread his statement.... however, I worded my response using "who ever you bought it from" assuming you may have other distributions channels than Aerosoft.  For all I know you can get PMDG products from Amazon. I did not assume it was a person to person transfer.

I have same question:

I understand we are all responsible for our choices, however I bought my 737 for FSX no more then 5 months ago. Turned out that switching to VATSIM I need to switch to Prepar 3D too (due to VAS memory constraints, etc.).

Buying same plane again in 5 months would be spending 160 USD on ultimately the same experience...

Maybe there are some Christmas discounts planned where guys like me can convert without such ruthless economics?

I've never seen PMDG doing Christmas/Easter/Summer/Vacasion/whatever sales... So I really doubt there will be any.
