If you have Windows 10 Pro you can disable auto updates.  You can purchased a Win10 Pro key on Amazon for under $20 and they email you the key in a few hours

also try winaero tweaker (google) its free and has a load of tweaks for win10.

The method described in the post above yours by vortex seems to be working well for me, but thanks for this additional option.
