P3Dv4.1 crashing

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Need help with frequent crashes of P3D4. Below are the details of the recent event logs. If anybody can point a direction or otherwise advise it will be greatly appreciated. I can point out that recent additions (addon's) to the P3D installation on my machine are:

- DrzewieckiDesignGrass.exe

- DD_NY_AIRPORTS_V2_X_KJFK-KLGA-KTEB (By Drzewiecki Design)

- DD_NY_AIRPORTS_V2_X_KEWR-KCDW-KLDJ (By Drzewiecki Design)

I am not saying that these are the culprits, however, it is possible... Did not get (yet) to the point where I remove those and retest.

Thanks

Benny K

I believe that recently I read that someone had issue with Drzewiecki Design scenery. I had issue with scenery while installing for first time, but I deleted scenery .cfg and started one by one to eliminate issues. But they weren't Drzewiecki Design scenery. Or for quick on everything, go to Prepar3D Tricks, you will find everything about set-ups and self serve fixes. Perfectly done by Elaine.....

Thanks cyyz...

I can update now that I resolved the issue. CCleaner to resolve registry issues and update of Nvidia driver. I trust the first step helped resolve whatever the problem was.

Most likely it was the new Nvidia drivers, I was having some random windows blue screens while performing my flights and they only disappeared after I updated my Nvidia drivers.

I had P3D "stopped working". No blue screen though. In any event, either this or the other, following this actions, I was able to complete a full 9 hours flight with the PMDG 777 (at X4 acceleration) with no event. Great.

Yes, but maybe your hardware is better than mine :), I am using a 980Ti and PD3 is driving it to the extreme! I swear sometimes my water cool PC stars steaming while I use the PMDG NGx.

Any way, good to know you are sorted!

Different issues on that link, the last user reported crashes with ai_player.dll which is not the same you had and can be caused by faulty AI models or faulty planes gauges trying to run TCAS funtions.

Are you still having problems?.

Yes. It did not go away (I only thought it went away) and still randomly crashing. The funny thing about it that you can finish a long flight w/o incident and the next day it will crash on another flight.

BTW, the title of that post is exactly what happens in my system. I also posted over there as Benjamin...

After spending hundreds of $$$ on P3d and add-on's of all kinds - I start considering XP11 (he he ... not funny)

Thanks

Crashes can happen for many different reasons.

In your case, the problem seems to be on api.dll, so some third party add-on could be responsible: gauge, plane, camera software, weather software, etc.

Try to update all your add-on's with their latest version, if this doesn't fix the issue them disable all of them and start discarding one by one to find which one could be the culprit.

Best Regards

To add my 2 cents...I just got a CTD whilst flying.  It appears to be ntdll.dll.  I'll update my nVidia driver just in case.

Ok, I had similar problem as well and updating the PMDG to the latest version helped, but it seems it is not the same for you.
