P3D exe stops working.

Recommended Posts

I have been experiencing more of these lately especially with the TFDI 717.  Usually at dusk or night and/or on longer flights.   The screen turns to the transparent white with the message that P3D has stopped working and Windows will look for a solution.  I use Active Sky, TrakIR with ORBX Global and OpenLC.  I place the same thread on the TFDI forum but realizing it may not have anything to do with the plane I will ask you all as well.

I have I7-4790 @4 GHz, 16 RAM, 64 Bit Win 7, GTX 1080Ti.    I checked and found that their is a newer driver for the GeForce Card.

The flights up to the point of work stoppage have been great.  Good FPS and no issues.

Has anyone experienced this and have a possible solution.

p3D v4.1    Yes, using Dynamic Lighting.    I deleted the scenery indexes and I will try a flight initiating AS AFTER initiating Sim.  I usually do it AS first.

FYI, I just flew the same flight with PMDG NGS with no problem.   Flew it at night.

Hi there,

Can you check on your OS event viewer and post the PD3 crash information? It might give us some clues.

Simbol

Can you provide me with more detail as to what you want me to provide?   Within the viewer log what part of the tree do you want me to provide.  I see "errors", warnings etc.

Hi Ken,

When any application crashes the operating system puts information on the application event logs.

It would be useful to see at least a couple of logs of when PD3 crash.

To do this, launch PD3, replicate the crash and open the application event logs using the operating system events viewer, find the most recent errors, copy and paste here the errors that belong to Prepard3D.exe.

Best Regards

I have noticed lot's of stuttering with the latest build of TFDi's 717, could it be this causing the problem?

Well it is hard to know until we see the crash logs, although stuttering rarely will cause a fatal crash, just slow performance.

Hello
I had the same problem and I found the solution in the TFDI forum.
Change the textures from 2048 to 1024. You will find the file in the forum downloads tab. At the moment it is the only solution.
a greeting.

Yerco
