Any detailed airports to go with Project Canarias 2006?

Featured Replies

Hi all, I finally figured out how to install the Canary Island scenery and it's just awesome, but I was hoping someone could tell me where I could find maybe some Tenerife airport scenery either north or south(or both). Thanks,Jeff

Aerosoft has a great Canary airports scenery, but I don't know if it is compatible with Project Canarias.Lee

the installer will serach for that addon and install itself accordingly to make it compatible. I dont have the aerosoft addon but I assume it will work fine

All the default airports can be replaced with Toni Agramont's Canaries scenery - flightsim.com - search for canary04.zip. (You need to register on the site).Much of the download will not sit with the Canarias scenery of course - which is a pity, because (like in his excellent Morocco scenery) Toni clearly went to a great deal of trouble with this (have a look at the texture folder in the above zip file to see what I mean!). So, albeit with regret, I removed all the bgl files from the scenery folder apart from those with 'Airp' in them, as well as the one GCLA (La Palma) bgl file, and then activated the scenery below the Project Canarias scenery in my scenery library. The result is that at least I can enjoy Toni's enhanced airport scenery. I haven't yet noticed any serious conflicts - just the odd pole in the middle of a runway so far: but I am editing those now and (if anyone requests) can post my 'fixit' bgl files to the AVSIM library.Hopefully, Project Canarias will slowly (or rapidly, even better!) fill in all the remaining airports themselves, but at the moment canary04.zip provides a huge improvement to the default airports. If anyone installs this, as above, and notices any other conflicts, I'd be grateful if they'd post them here so that I can have a go at correcting them with regard to the Canarias scenery - though, that said, I am sure many people reading this will be more than capable of making their own 'fixit' bgl files! Don't mean to sound arrogant!!Martin

"I haven't yet noticed any serious conflicts - just the odd pole in the middle of a runway so far ..."Embarrassed cough.... Well, there are more serious conflicts, like at GCHI. The buildings in the water are easy to see to, but I am not sure about the odd levels at the airport. I will have a go at fixing this as soon as I can..Martin

Thanks Martin, I'll check that out.Jeff
